Looking for descendants of Moses Ervin BOYD, b. 11 Sept 1849 in SC and Milly Jane (MITCHELL) BOYD b. 26 Nov. 1849 Forsyth County, GA. They came to TX sometime after the Civil War. Lived first in East Texas-Smith, Navarro and Johnson Cos. Then moved to Swisher County in very late 1800's. Moses died at Tulia, Texas 18 July 1902. Milly died in Amarillo, Potter Co. TX 1 Aug. 1922. They are both buried at Tulia. Their children were:

I am looking for descendants of Jerry Jackson PHILLIPS born abt. 1834 in North Carolina, who lived in the Daingerfield, Titus/Morris Counties. He married a Francis Hulda BEAUCHAMP, born about 1834 in South Carolina. Childrenwere: Laura, John Warrington, Payton J.D., Angie E. Saibord Osborn and Mary Evalina d. 21 Nov. 1865 in Daingerfield, Titus Co., Texas Mary Evalina married William Zachariah LILLEY and they moved their family to Durant, Bryan Co., Oklahoma where many of the descendants still live. W.Z and Mary were my grand parents. Will be glad to share any information I have on any of the above.

Seeking info regarding the birth and parents of Mittie Hill BOYD who lived in Naples, Texas, and married Harvey Thorton BENNETT on May 6, 1888. Their first four children were born in Naples: Marie Bennett, B.Feb.13, 1889; Jack Moore Bennett, B.June 20, 1891 (D. Nov.11, 1916) Gladine Bennett, B. Mar. 16, 1893; Harvey Thorton Bennett Jr., B. Jan. 18, 1896. Harvey Sr. worked for the railroad and the family moved to Hope, Ark., after he returned in 1900 after going to the Klondike gold rush in 1898. Mittie Boyd's father was a Confederate soldier who was discharged after losing an arm in the Battle of Mansfield, La. He, his wife and and Jack are all buried in Naples Cemetery but I am not sure of their names.

I am looking for information regarding the family of Charles Fletcher Canant. He was married to Fannie Mae Canant and moved to East Texas, probably Morris or Camp County. They had several children, one of whom was Effie Mae Canant, who was my grandmother. Both of her parents died when she was quite young and did not remember much about them. I am trying to trace that family line, but can't seem to find a starting point. My grandmother married a man by the name of Dunlap and lived in Cason in 1912.

He was living in Morris County in 1990 Census. He was listed as a boarder with Laran and Nannie Walker. Was he related to them. Why did he move to Morris County. What happened to him. I have not been able to find him in 1920 census. Did he marry. Did he maybe move to Oklahoma?

I am seeking information on Della COLEY and her husband who was a schoolteacher and/or a postmaster in Omaha, Morris County TX in the 1890's. Della's sister was Flora CANASTER MOSS married to Jim (James Madison) MOSS. They had children Fred, Frank and Jessie (a girl) born in ARK. Flora CANASTER NOSS died in Naples, Morris Co, 6 Oct 1898. Jim MOSS then married Della REESE daughter of James Bufford REESE. I would like to know more about Flora and her sister who was married to a COLEY in hopes that I can find out about Jim MOSS' parents.

William Crogan LILLEY b. 1824 in Hardin Co., Tennessee d. abt 1864 in the Civil War. There is " The Rogers Cemetery" in Morris County near Daingerfield. It was a family burial place on the Rogers property. It was established by planter-coach owner-area leader Edwin G. Rogers, on their home grounds. Besides Martha Jane, there were unknown siblings. How could I find your famous "BUZZARD ROOST MT."? I know it's down near Lone Star somewhere. Who owns it? I saw it once several years ago. It'd make a great tourist attraction. (PS - I could make my award-winning "Buzzard's Breath Chili" -- with genuine simulated buzzard parts in it! (Mmmm-mmm) Another Q: Does D'field have a CHILI COOK-OFF? THANX for any help on these, Paul.
