Mon Jan 19 2004 Marilyn J. Morris morrismj38@hotmail.com
723 North 16th St. Waco, TX 76707
I am looking for my ggrandmother's maiden name. The best spelling for her name I have is Zebiah Anne PREWITT. She was born in Red River County in 1842 and married to Gordon Joseph WHITEHEAD in 1874, and they lived near Omaha on 40 acres. They had five daughters, Laura E. (b.1875), Tulia A. (b.1878), Francis (b.1880), Alice Mae (b.1885) (my grandmother), and Mattie (b.1883), who died young. Alice married Hilton FONDREN, Laura married Jim TIGERT, Tulia married Tom TIGERT, Francis married and SCOTT. My grandmother so admired her mother and father; she often told me stories of their everyday lives. One admonition I still live by today is one my grandmother said originated with her maternal grandmother, and that is that if you're going in anyway, carry a stick of stovewood with you.....make your trip count. If anyone has ANY information about my family, I'll be really grateful to hear from you.
