LOOKUPS OF NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TEXASTo volunteer to do lookups please send a message to TXGenWeb Nacogdoches County CoordinatorTIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL LOOK-UP REQUESTS
Quick Tips for Productive Look-Up Requests Please think about your look-up query. DON'T write "tell me everything about John Smith". Organize your query. Tell birthdates and death dates and birthplaces and death places, marriage dates and marriage places. Tell names of spouse(s) and children, and parents if known. If you do not know anything about your earliest ancestor, you probably know something about his/her children. Start there. Give the info on the children, then ask for any leads to more info on the parent(s). If you do not know anything at all about an ancestor, have you interviewed all living family members? Do you know approximately when that ancestor was married? Had children? Died? Give the mother 16+ years (in most cases) and the father approximately 20 yrs. Indicate when you are giving estimates -- but try to provide your volunteer researcher with a ballpark date. Was your grandmother born in Nacogdoches in 1820 or in 1920? It makes a difference! If you just ask for information on your grandmother who was born in Nacogdoches, we do not even know where to start. 1880 Texas,Alabama, Missouri, Mississippi and Louisiana
