  The County Clerk is Sandra "Sandy" Yates.
  
  County has

  • birth and death records from 1903, some delayed birth certificates for the 1800's are also available,

  • marriage records from 1824 (pre-1836 are transcripts of records from the Nacogdoches Archives),

  • probate records from 1845,

  • land records from 1833,

  • some cemetery records,

  • County Census records,

  • civil court records.

  
  

• Most of the older courthouse records are available on microfilm from the East Texas Research Center at Stephen F. Austin State University. Some of the microfilm is available via inter-library loan.

• Some vital records require copying on the official forms used by the Texas Bureau of Vital Statistics. Everyone at the County Clerk's office is extremely friendly and helpful.
