Joe Hudson, the youngest of four brothers, was born August 23, 1900,
at the home place in Aquilla, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Mary Elizabeth
(Brannon) Hudson (see Thomas J. Hudson, Jr.). Being the only remaining
son at home, he stayed and helped his father run the Hill County ranch,
but after acquiring band in Coleman County, he left Hill County and came
to Coleman in 1930. He built a home on the land and lived there alone
until June 15, 1938, when he married Anna Aachte in Cordell, Oklahoma.
Anna was a teacher in Dill City School System. Their children are:
Jo Ann, Jerry Ned, and Kay Elizabeth. All three children finished
Junior High School in Novice, then transferred to Coleman, and graduated
from Coleman High. Jo Ann attended and graduated from McMurry College
in Abilene, and lives in Denver, Colorado. Jerry graduated from Texas
Tech in Lubbock, and lives in Odessa, married Jan Yeatman in Coleman.
They have three children - Clayton, Hillary, and Weston. Kay
graduated from Texas Tech, married Rick Bunting, and they have two sons,
Joseph and Timothy. They live in Abilene. Joe died August 22, 1978,
