NOTES: Kinion (sometimes spelled Kinyon) died of Typhoid in Mississippi followed, not long thereafter, by the deaths of his older brother and two daughters of his older brother of Typhoid. His older brother's wife took her surviving children back to North Carolina from where they had come. Kinion's widow, Elizabeth, moved to Leon County with her parents and other family members in late 1854, bringing with her six children including the youngest who was born after Kinion's death. Within 10 years she had also died. Four of the children died by the age of 27 or earlier and the age of another at death is not known. Only the oldest child, Elisha, a dentist, is known to have lived a normal life span. |
