Miss Ruth GREENHILL WITH SENTIMENTS OF MOST PROFOUND RESPECT & ADMIRATION
We dedicate the 1954 Corral to our own, Miss Ruth Greenhill who has been at Austin with us since 1937, when the school first opened. She is well-known among the students as a sympathetic friend and as the best person in the world to tell your troubles to. She understands the problems of a teen-ager and is willing to listen to those problems and help find a solution.
The Mustang's Booster Club is sponsored by Miss Greenhill; as is the Bronco Whirl, given at the end of football season.
Before beginning her career as a teacher, Miss Greenhill attended Rice Institute. The university of Texas and Columbia also boast of having her on their rolls at one time. She received her B.A. in 1921, to be followed by her M. a. in 1926. Her teaching career began in January of 1922 at Sam Houston High School, where she sponsored the Girl Reserves of the Y.W.C.A. Then when Austin opened one of its first civics teachers was Miss Greenhill.
She is an aristocratic looking lady with gray-white hair, blue eyes, and beautiful coloring. She is a southerner.
