I have been trying to locate the grave of my great, great
grandfather, who died in Wortham. His name was Thomas M. Bryant, and he was a
corporal in the 5th Alabama Infantry during the Civil War. He was born in 1832
in South Carolina, and moved to Wortham after the Civil War. He was listed in
the 1900 census as living in Wortham with his children. His daughter, Maggie
Allen Bryant Sterling, died in 1954 and is buried in Wortham. Thank you for any
assistance you can give. David L. Bohmfalk

Marcus Lafeyette Washam married Mary
Jane-------- on 16 Oct 1874 in Freestone Co., TX.. (per information I have
gotten from others) but they did not know what Mary Jane's last name was.
I believe she was previously married to a Morris and had 3 sons when she married
MLWasham and he either adopted the boys or they took his name as their own. The
boys are listed as Morris on the 1880 census.. but later became Washam.
She had at least 2 sons born in Limestone Co and I believe their father was a
Morris. I am looking for Mary Jane's surname.
Thank you for any help Becky Culpepper

Are there any descendants of the W.C. & Margaret “Martie”
Willard Jones family living today in Freestone County? This
family falls well below the radar on census records yet had 7 children in their
family. Data submitted to me indicates a marriage of Jan. 21, 1886 but I can
find no such marriage record on-line for this couple in Freestone Co. Margaret
was a daughter of Nelson A. Willard. I am researching the Willard family and
have lots of data on them but this couple eludes me and apparently many others
who are helping in this effort. I have a family photo that indicates children
of: Wade, Reece, Cy, Margaret, Lela, Clara, Dewey, and Emma. This family of nine
people (possibly more born later) seems to just disappear from Freestone Co.
records. Perhaps they moved elsewhere but I can’t find them anywhere in Texas in
later years. I am hopeful that maybe they remained in Freestone County albeit
out of sight and that there may be descendants of this family still living there
today. Any help you can provide that will assist me in tracking this family
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,
Danny Nichols

Sally Thornton is the name I am
researching. She married a henry Chamblee (Shamblee or Chambly; numerous
spellings.) I found a Sallay and Henry with a child Mattie in Freestone Co.
census in 1850. Supposedly she was part of the Walter Thornton clan But can'd
find any information Verizon

Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Freestone Co, TX in the section where several
Fergusons (A. D. and Adaline) are buried, there are 6 small upright markers
indicating someone is buried there. In the last 5 yrs, someone has put a small
flat cement marker with the name “Ferguson” in front of each of these 6 upright
markers.
A. D. *Aaron David” Ferguson is my Gr. Grandfather. I would like to find out who
put the name on these markers. I would like so much to talk to this/these
persons as I’m sure we are related. Please contact me.
