"In 1929, Higginbotham Brothers and Company (Lumber Yard) was located on Colorado Street, southeast corner of Live Oak Street(Note: This lumber yard covered the north half of this block, and would become 101, 103 (or 105), and 109 South Colorado Street.)(Coleman City Directory, 1929 - Hudspeth.)


In 1930, the southwest part (lumber shed) of the H. H. Hardin Lumber Yard was identified as being at 109 South Colorado Street.

A 1948 map shows this location as 107 and 109 South Colorado Street, but no other reference has been noted as to the existence of an address of 107 South Colorado Street.

"In June 1948, the Price Paint and Body Works was located at 109 South Colorado Street.  Their telephone number was 5696."  (The Southwestern States Telephone Company, Coleman - Novice, Texas, June 1948.)

In more recent years, the building located at 109 South Colorado Street was the tin fabrication shop of John Tolar Refrigeration.  "Purchased by John I. Tolar, Box 1013, Coleman, Texas 76834-1013, August 5, 1985."  (Coleman County Deed Record Book 579, page 614.)

The sign in this 2003 photo reads "Price - Maitair Supply" - the sign of the old Price Paint and Body Shop.
