"In 1929, Higginbotham Brothers and Company (Lumber Yard) was located on Colorado Street, on the southeast corner of Live Oak Street (which would become 101 South Colorado Street)."  (Coleman City Directory, 1929 - Hudspeth.)

In 1930, the northwest part of the H. H. Hardin Lumber Yard was identified as being at 101 South Colorado Street.  The front (or west side) is shown as a two story building, 20 feet tall, while the east part is 1 story at 16 feet tall.


The lumber yard had ceased business during the 1930's or 1940's, and by 1948 the buildings on the north side were being used as a feed store.
