V. K. Jameson better known as “Blacky,” was the son of James Allen and Mattie Jane (Smith) Jameson, born on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1895 and died July 27, 1973 on the Jameson place, four miles north of Coleman (see James Allen Jameson).  He attended school at Indian Creek, and later came to Coleman, to what is now West Ward School.  One if his teachers was Mrs. Will Gay.  Blacky volunteered for the Army August 21, 1917.  He was commissioned Master Sergeant on February 10, 1918, and served two years in England, Paris and Breast, France.  He was discharged from the Army in New York City, July 17, 1919.

For the next several years Blacky was foreman of Bluff Creek Ranch in Shackleford County near Albany.  He met Annette Sandlin, born December 9, 1908 at Carbon and they married December 30, 1932, the daughter of Lanny Sandlin and Mary Adelia Powell.  Lanny’s grandparents came from Scotland; the family castle is still standing in Northern Scotland.  Blacky was “pick-up” man with the Stamford Rodeo for it’s first rodeo and went back for several years after moving to Coleman.  They moved to Coleman in July 1933, to the Jameson place north of Coleman, where they raised sheep and cattle for a few years before selling the sheep to raise Hereford cattle and small grain crops.

They had three daughters: (1) Billie Kay, born February 21, 1937, died February 26, 1937.  (2) Donnie Ray, born February 21, 1937, died February 21, 1937.  (3) Adelia Gaye, born June 4, 1938, married Glen Wilson, August 13, 1955 in Coleman, born April 22, 1937, the son of Olan and Grace (Thommason) Wilson, life time ranchers in the Leaday and Gouldbusk community.  (Olan died August 19, 1959.)   Gaye and Glen have three children: (3a) Michael Dwain, born September 28, 1956, married Mina Kay Elkin, January 17, 1975, the daughter of Lee Roy and Becky (Coleman) Elkin.  They had three children: Heath Michael, Nance Glen and Dustin Lee, deceased.  (3b) Catrina Valea, born December 27, 1957, married Roy Lynn Coats, December 6, 1975, the son of Lee Roy and Jerry (Richards) Coats (see Warren Glover Coates).  They have two children: Roi Michelle and Jake Wilson.  (3c) Mona Gaye, born January 31, 1959, married Troy Early, February 14, 1982, the son of Iva (Whitton) and Don Early.  They have two children: Natasha Nicole Wilson and Desireé Amber Early.
