J. C. (Peter) Wood

The above named is another native Texan who has spent his entire live in Henderson county. He was born in 1859 near Athens. His father, Doctor Wood, is mentioned elsewhere in this issue. Mr. Wood has been very successful in business life. Stock raising in the western part of the county, farming and merchandising have been his employments. As one of the firm of Reierson, Wood & Scott, he is known to nearly every citizen of the county.

Mr. Wood married a daughter of J. M. Pickens. They have three children, Hamlet and Dred, and one little girl, Josephine, all bright children.

Mr. Wood is a very quiet polished gentleman, who is conservative and liberal in his views, and not at all exclusive. Any country that such men as he are produced in cannot be considered lacking in those surroundings that are prevalent in the most civilized countries. He has fine property, a fine house in the city, and has around him all the conveniences and associations that render life pleasant and worth living.
