Dr. T. B. Wood

Dr. T. B. Wood, one of the prominent early settlers of this county, was born in Mississippi in 1820. He came to Henderson county in 1854 and settled on a place about one mile east of Athens where he lived continuously until his death which occurred in 1879. Dr. Wood was a very successful physician and from his practice and good business management he left considerable property interest.

He raised three children, two sons and a daughter. One of the sons is dead. The other, J. C. Wood, is mentioned elsewhere. His daughter is the wife of J. R. Reierson, one of our leading merchants and who is mentioned elsewhere. A grandson, Arch Wood, who is with the firm of Reierson, Wood & Scott, is a young man who has good property and is managing it well and bids fair to become one of the leading business men of the county.
