Pioneers Rest Cemetery was the first cemetery to be established in Fort Worth. The earliest known burials are that of Willis and Sophie (children of Major Ripley Allen Arnold) who died in 1850 and eleven soldiers who died at the fort during the years 1849 through 1852.

This book was compiled by Weldon Hudson and Barbara Knox and published in 2001 by the Fort Worth Genealogical Society. Copies may be ordered from the society.
