Dr. D. O. Jeter
Dr. D. O. Jeter of Murchison comes of a family of
physicians. He can
probably claim a record that no other man possesses. Dr.
Jeter has five
brothers and all are physicians. Three reside in Oklahoma
and two in
Texas.
Dr. Jeter was born near Wills Point in 1879. He secured his
education in
the schools of that county and later attended Baylor University
at Waco.
From there he went to Dallas where he entered the medical school
of
Dallas University, which was later merged with the medical
department of
Baylor University of that city. Following this he attended
the
Southwestern University Medical school.
Dr. Jeter is a physician who believes that his patients are
entitled to
the best of medical science and he has therefore taken
post-graduate work
each year to keep up with all that is new in his profession.
Following the completion of his medical course he came to Kaufman
to
practice and later moved to Murchison where he became one of the
outstanding citizens of the county and one of its best
physicians.
Dr. Jeter was married to Miss Victoria Kirk of Hickman, Ky., in
May 1908.
He affiliates with the Democratic party only to the extent of
seeing that
good men are elected to office. He was active during the
world war and
contributed much of his time as a physician to the government.
He takes an active interest in all affairs for the betterment of
his city
and is another one of the outstanding young professional men of
the
county who are helping to make of East Texas the foremost section
of this
State.
Dr. Jeter is interested in agriculture and owns a nice farm near
his home
city.
