Seeking whereabouts of this HINES family in Texas in 1860. Jacob HINES, born c. 1811 in OH, wife Sarah (NOBLE) b 29 Oct 1811 in KY. Married about 1832 in Parke Co IN, (court house burned Nov 1832). Children found in 1850 census Ozark Co MO: Mary Ann-15, Thomas-12, Elizabeth-10, William Henry-9, James-7, Sarah-6, Clark-5 and Patsy Matilda-2. Mary Ann married William WEEKS in Burnet Co TX 23 Dec 1858. She and William are listed in the 1860 census for Llano Co. In 1870 Elizabeth is married to James BYFIELD and living in Goliad Co. Sarah and daughter Serilda (Syrilda, born 21 Jun 1850 in Ozark Co MO) are living in Llano Co close to the WEEKS family and to James, wife Sarah and 3 SCHMITT children. Where are the other children and how did Elizabeth get to Goliad Co?

Researching family of Juan MOYA ,MOYA Y DELGADO, DELGADO-MOYA. He and his brother Augustine fought in the war for independence on the side of Mexico, when Mexico lost the war, the brothers decided to become citizens of Texas and swore their alligiance to their new country. This did not sit well with their neighbors, but they tolerated the new citizens anyway. Sometime later, a man named Thad swift was murdered, and as his mexican ranch hands were missing, the town came after the Moya's. Juan, his brother, and one of his sons were taken into custody, but never brought to trial, as soon as they were away from their house, they were stabbed, hung, shot, and dragged with horses. The town of Goliad was convinced that justice was served. Later, the true criminals were caught, tried, and hung. Nothing was ever done about the murders of the Moya's, the townsfolk came and took their land and chased the wives and children off. I am interested in corresponding with any descendants who still may be in the area. As well as anyone who may have additional details about this story. I am interested in knowing where this land is, who owns it now, and what is on it.I would also like to know where the Moya family members are buried. The other family I am researching is that of German immigrant Philip Henry Koehler, he married Basilia Moya and had six children. OEHLKE/SCHUENEMANN Wilhelm and Regina SCHUENEMANN OEHLKE immigrated from Germany in 1884 with sons Heinrich, Gustav, Emil and Wilhelm. A daughter Martha Amanda Rosa OEHLKE was born after the family arrived in TX. By the 1890's the family lived near Weesatche where they attended St. Andrew's Lutheran Church. Related surnames are HOFFMAN, GOLLNICK, KIRCHNER, BETHKE, MORITZ, GOEHRING, BADE, SCHLOSSER, KUNKEL, SCHLINKE. Would like to exchange information with others researching this family.

HAWKINS, Richard Clay and Louisa moved to Goliad County around 1867 near Fanin, Texas. He bought 160 acres of land near there. He fathered a daughter named Anna and soon died of pneumonia, leaving 12 children. Any help on finding where he is buried would be helpful.

MILLER, William F. age 40 was listed in 1860 census. Births of children indicated he came to Texas about 1851 from TN. It is know William F. MILLER and at least two of his sons served in the same unit during the Civil War.Known sons were : Isaac or Jacob ca 1841, Peter ca 1843, James ca 1845, William ca 1848, Sterling 1851, Benj. ca 1853,and Alfred 1860. There was one other child born ca 1858, not sure if this was a male or female. These boys known to have maried into FOWLER and CORNETT families. Anyone out there with any information. I will appreciate and share.

HALL, David and Ada WILSON HALL. David was supposed to have served w/ Zachary Taylor. Ada was supposed to have died in GoliaD in 1872. Known child, John HALL. John may have been involved in cattle drive to MT w/ following; Sam BENSON, Smokey HARVEY, Fred GARDNER, Jake WILLIAMSON, Sam BASS, Bud ALLISON, Charley DAVLIN, Cal STEWART, John LEE and Sterling CROSS.

Looking for information on the Rev. Robert Henry HILL Family. He came to Texas in the 1830's and married Agnes Shelton Menefee. I understand that he died on 15 December 15, 1856, and is buried somewhere in Goliad County. I have a great deal of information on his decendents, however the only thing we know about his ancestery is that he was born about 1817 in North Carolina and came to Texas as a traveling Methodist minister. I am willing to share any information that I have on this family if anyone out there wishs to have the information. By the way Robert and his wife Agnes were my GG Grandparents. Looking forward to hearing from sonme one. Thanks.

Searching for any documents on Rev. William Henry Harrison BIGGS, Methodist minister that traveled throughout South Texas from 1874 to 1930's when he died in Brownsville, TX. His first wife was Sarah Julia BELL, died 27 Jan. 1881 in Goliad, TX. Second wife was Pattie Dallam TAYLOR. BIGGS lived for a number of years in the San Marcos area as Presiding Elder. Had two brothers, ministers, also in Texas, Amariah Curtis BIGGS and Josephus BIGGS. All three were from Pike County, Arkansas
