Graveside Rites Held Friday for Mrs. Emmons
Graveside rites were held Friday afternoon, December 3, 1954, at the Fairfield Cemetery for Mrs. Lottie Robertson Emmons, 84, who died at the home of her son, A. J. Emmons, in the Mt. Zion Community, on Thursday, December 2. The Rev. W. C. Webb, pastor of the Methodist Church of Buffalo, officiated.
Pallbearers were Joe Fred Emmons, E. D. Terry, Edgar Terry, Odell Ray, Clifton Anderson and Walter Vaughn.
Mrs. Emmons was born in Freestone County, September 12, 1870, where she lived all of her life, to Charles Franklin and Martha Mims Robertson. Death followed an extended illness.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, A. J. and Ruby Gilpin Emmons and Reagan and Mattie Cornelius Emmons, both of Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. Della Beryl Emmons and Linton Clark James; two brothers, Newt Robertson of Fairfield and Stout Robertson of Bullard; and one sister, Mrs. Lora Stripling of Tyler; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Capps Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
