NATIVE OF FAIRFIELD DIES IN SOUTH AMERICA
Friends and relatives here of the DAY family were sadden to learn of the death
of Valentine DAY which occured in South America on October 31. Reports are that
he had been suffering with an attack of appendicitis but his death was sudden
and caused by heart failure.
Valentine was 37 years old and was born near Fairfield and reared here. With his mother and sisters he moved to Mineral Wells a number of years ago and since reaching manhood he had been engaged in Oil Well Drilling. At time of his death he was Field Manager of the British Oil Company, boring oil wells in South America. No finer man ever lived than Valentine. He was a zealous 32 Degree Mason and devoted to his sisters, Miss. Georgia, Mary, Nannie and Lura DAY of Mineral Wells. He is also survived by two brothers, J. W. of Ward Praire and Jean DAY of California.
Decease remains were intered in South America but later will be brought to the United States for burial.
