Graveside services were held Wednesday, January 10, 2001, for Dennis Van Day, 66, of Hewitt, who died Monday, January 8.
Robert Buchannan officiated at the service, held at Waco Memorial Park.
Mr. Day was born January 26, 1934 in Freestone County to Robert Van and Julia Irma Gilpin Day. He served in the U. S. Army, and worked for many years at General Tire and Rubber Co., retiring in 1981.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Day of Hewitt, daughters Jeanine Lopez and husband Jessie of Hewitt, Suzanne Tunmire and husband Larry of Hewitt, Beth Van Zant of Lorena and Pam Poteet of Midlothian; Sons Bryan Robinson and wife Lori of Waco, Randy Day and wife Brandi of South Padre Island; sister, Eloise Keeland of Stow, Ohio, mother-in-law Christine McKethan of Waco, nephew Day Keelan and wife Jan of Minet, ND. 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are David Merryman, Kenneth Beverly, Norman Smith, John Pavelka, James Sowders and John Derrick.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Waco Humane Society. Arrangements were made by Wilkirson-Hatch-Baily.
