Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 19, 2000 for Lettie Mae "Mamie" Cooper, 93, of Teague who died Sunday, December 17. Mrs. Cooper was born July 25, 1907, in Fairfield and, with her husband Edward Leslie Cooper, operated Cooper's Cafe for more than 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Teague and Teague Garden Club.
Services were at 10 a. m. at Ricks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Special music was "Sweet Hour of Prayer."
Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Pallbearers were Charles Ham, Chelmer Satterwhite, Philip Ivy, W. L. Lindsey, F. R. Eppes and W. R. McSwane.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Beth Cooper of Teague; a sister and brother-in-law, Rena and Albert York of Fairfield, a brother and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Gladys Ivy of Corsicana;
Three grandchildren, Melanie Holmes and husband Scott of Teague, Sarah Rothchild and husband Joe of Katy and Wade Cooper and wife Melanie of Teague.
She was preceded in death by her husband and by a son, Edward Leslie Cooper, Jr.
