NOTES: * John Tippen the father and the last child John Tippen Jr. are the only two buried in the plot. It is surrounded by a white wrought iron fence under two oak trees about 200 yards off the road on the "Big Man Ranch" along the upper Keechi Creek |

SOURCES: The Govenor of the State of Texas gave 640 acres along the Keechi Creek to John Tippen in 1864 for which we have court records. Other sources are numerous court documents, census and family records. We have court records for the adoptions, along with court records where the biological mother gave the children to the Tippens.
