NOTES: It appears that this family came to Freestone Co. between 1857, when the the oldest sons married in Barbour County, AL and 1860 when the family was in Freestone Co. for the census. They purchased land between Luna and Avant Prairie (Dew). They began a settlement referred to as "David's Mill" due to the fact that they had a grist mill. There was also a school, church and Masonic lodge at David's Mill Community |
