NOTES:
Samuel Harrison Bryson and his wife, Sara McKnight Bryson, moved from Cannon Co., TN to Freestone Co., TX between 1880 and 1882.  They settled on a ranch near Wortham and became the parents of six sons and one daughter.

Their son, Abner Bryson, enlisted in the US 39th Volunteer Infantry during the Spanish American War and was in the Phillipines.  He became ill and was being sent back to the US but he died on the way back to San Francisco.  He is buried in the Woodland Cemetery near Kirvin, Freestone Co., TX

Their son, William Bert "Bill" Bryson farmed in the Israel Community until he started working in railroad construction.  In 1917 he was ordained into the ministry; soon after that they moved to Jacksonville, TX.  He pastored several churches there and at Bullard, TX.  In 1925 this family moved back to Freestone Co., TX.

Their son, Mac Shannon "Shan" Bryson and wife, Nettie, were divorced.  Their children were placed in the Texas State Orphanage in Navarro Co., TX.  On 1910 Navarro Co., TX census, Mack S. Bryson is listed as 28 years old and working in a meat market, living in the Jos. Tinkle residence. I have been unable to find them on the 1920 census.
