Joe has retired and Floyd County has a new coordinator and a new look. All of Joe's material and research links are still on the site.

I've tried to recreate some of the history of the site.

Joe Reynolds took over the management of the website and spent countless hours adding records and research material to it.

At some point in the last six years, more pages have been added to the site - descriptions of the communities from the Handbook of Texas.
Added a Search engine.

The URL of the site was changed by Ancestry.com to http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~txfloyd/.

Added a few paragraphs with a brief history of Floydada, Lockney, Dell Plain and Mayshaw. The site still consisted of one page.
1997
The county site was created at RootsWeb with links to some of the projects and the message board system. In the beginning, the main focus of the site was to display queries for the area.
