On maps of 1930 and before the quarter block that would become 711 - 713 South Concho Street is shown as vacant. south side - 1948 map In 1948, a hatchery for turkeys or chickens was located at 713 South Concho Street, and an auto repair shop was located at 711 South Concho Street.
It appears that a long, one-story building was located to the north of
the hatchery, which could have been part of the hatchery. A
drainage ditch ran on the south side of the hatchery and turned north,
running down the middle of this block from south to north.
Glasson Transer and Storage in the mid-1950's By the mid-1950's, Doyle Glasson had moved his transfer and storage business to 711-713 South Concho Street from 517 Vale Street. This new business incorporated both the old shop and hatchery into the transfer and storage business.
"In
1962, Glasson Transfer and Storage
was located at 711 - 713 S. Concho Street. It was owned by L.
Doyle Glass and Jack Sneed. "Local and long Distance Moving,
Agents for Kings Van and Storage, Bonded Storage, Insured, Free Estimates." Their telephone number was 625-4331."

Between the time of the building of Glasson's Transfer and Storage to the present time, the Glasson family has added the Bargain House,
which sells furniture and appliances. and has turned the old hatchery
on the south side into an antique store. They also have an office
for Glasson Quality Rentals, which is located across South Concho Street.
