COLUMBUS STREET

Columbus Street is the 10th street west of South Commercial Avenue.
It begins at Live Oak Street and extends south to West Seventh Street.

The above 1923 map shows what was to become the north portion of Columbus Street. From Austin Street south, Columbus Street had been named, but the northmost portion had not been named at this time. The far north half had been laid out as it is today, but the south half had been laid out further east than it is today. By 1930, this south half had been closed and Columbus Street opened to the west to align with the north half and the part of Columbus Street south of Austin Street.
