The above map shows block 2 on which 200 Columbus Street sat.  It appears the sheds on the south side of the block were part of this residence in 1923.  To the right, is a close-up view of the dwelling.  Porches were added to the northwest and southwest corners between 1923 and 1930.

"In 1929, Finis E. Rich, and his wife Fannie M., were residing at 200 Columbus Street.  He was a bookkeeper at Simms Oil Company, and she was a teacher."   (Coleman City Directory, 1929 - Hudspeth.)

Coleman Chronicle or Democrat-Voice - 1974

The Bay Window is all that is left standing of the Old Walker Home located at the corner of Columbus and Austin Streets in the west part of the city.  Years ago Mrs. Fannie Rich operated her kindergarten there, prior to moving her location to College Avenue.  The lot is being cleared.  (staff photo)
