Merle Wiginton, 62 years of age and a lifetime resident of Coleman,
passed away June 18, 2009 at his residence in Coleman. Funeral
service was Monday, June 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home
Chapel with Brother Joe Hailey officiating with military honors.
Interment followed in the Coleman City Cemetery.
John was born May 1, 1947 in Coleman and was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Savage Wiginton. He was a graduate of Coleman High School and a member of the Elm Street Church of Christ. He served his country in the Army. John Wiginton married Becky Hollingsworth in Coleman on February 25, 1972. He was manager of the Coca-Cola plant for 15 years and was with the American National Life Insurance Company for 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Becky Wiginton of Coleman; daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Speedy Holloway of Coleman; son and daughter- in-law, Brian and Heather Wiginton of Ft. Worth, Texas; two brothers and their wives - Joel and Cathey Wiginton of Abilene and Dan and Diane Wiginton of Cincinnati; two grandchildren - Terren and Kirah Holloway both of Coleman. John was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter - Ami Wiginton. Pallbearers were Jake Wiginton, Josh Wiginton, Geoffrey Hollingsworth, Jeremy Hollingsworth, Phillip Hollingsworth, Aaron Aristonda, Nolan Tidwell and Chad Beal. Honorary pallbearers included Glen Hollingsworth, David Hollingsworth, Ron Hollingsworth, Larry Keeney, Chris Keeney, Josh Keeney, Brice Brudney, Scotty Moore, and John Sterling.
