Claud was born on 10-18-1930 in Coleman, Texas to Clara and Zack Kirby. Preceded in death by his son, Howard, 53, and grandson, Ryan, 13. He leaves behind wife and partner of over 30 years, Wenche; son, David and wife, Amy; son, Gary and wife, Cherlynne; and daughter, Lee Anne Masin; grandson, Matthew and wife, Rene and their boys Brady and Nolan; granddaughters, Julie, Jessica, and Sarah Kirby; nieces, nephews and friends. Claud enjoyed life. Coleman High School football brought him to college in Decatur, Texas, where he met his first wife and mother of his 4 children, Betty. Oilfield was his career and ticket to his world travels. Working for Baker Oil Tools took him out of Texas, but Texas was always in his heart. An avid golfer, but fisherman at heart took him to Sargent in 1999. There he enjoyed chasing reds and trout in the bay with his family. Always the adventurer, he and Wenche became fulltime RV'ers in 2004. His travels were cut short by his illness, and in his own words, he just ran out of time. Great memories will be treasured forever. (Coleman Chronicle and Democrat-Voice, Coleman, Texas, April x, 2007, page x.) | Claud A. Kirby |
