Lillian Gould, 78, died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Mount View Lodge in Big Spring.   Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Stovall officiating.  Burial will follow in the Brown Ranch Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.  Her body will lie in state at Myers and Smith Funeral Home in Big Spring until 1:00 p.m. Monday and until service time Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born on March 31, 1927 in Fisk, Texas to Cecil and Ora McQueen.  She married J. R. Gould on May 11, 1946 in Dublin, Texas.  He preceded her in death on August 8, 1995.  She had been a resident of Big Spring since 1947.  She was a homemaker and a member of College Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Henderson of Paint Rock; two sisters, June Southerland of Brownwood, Arlene Bennett of San Angelo; one brother, Harvey McQueen of Clarendon; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Gould, one son, Gaylon Gould, two sisters and one brother.

Buster Donham, 85, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006 in Fisher County Hospital.  Services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Rotan.  Burial followed in the Hamlin Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born September 11, 1920 in Gorman, Buster was a son of the late Samuel Taylor and Eunice (Williams) Donham.  He moved to Hamlin as a child and served in the United States Air Force as a young man during WW II.  Buster married Winnie Mae Meeks in Hamlin on August 18, 1940.  They moved to north Roby after he returned from the service and worked at the Sweetwater Cotton Oil Mill for 31 years until his retirement.  They later moved north of Rotan and remained in the Rotan area.  Buster was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rotan.

He was preceded in death by his wife (2002), parents, one grandson (Larry Don Whitley), five brothers (J. C., S. T., Dewey, Emmett and Jack Donham) and four sisters (Nellie Mahaffey, Pearl Warren, Billle Ruth Overturf and Minnie Lou Messick).

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tommy Davis of Clyde, Carol and Gavaun Hedden of Rotan, Mary and Charles Parker of Abilene, Brenda and Gerald Whitley of Clyde and Debra and Rick Stanford of Coleman; one sister, Lillian Bollinger of Pima, Arizona; 13 grandchildren, Terry Davis, Tracy Deel, Tammy Waters, Melissa Daniels, Crystal DeBusk Jody Hedden, Randy Parker, Tina Walker, Travis Whitley, Eric Whitley, Ricky Stanford, Amber LeFevre and Brandi Roberson; and 31 greatgrandchildren.

Nancy Orelia Spencer Menges, age 77, of Santa Anna, died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Coleman Health Care Center.  Graveside funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7 at the Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. James Ford officiating.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

She was born Nancy Orelia Spencer on October 5, 1928 in Santa Anna, Texas, a daughter of Henry Edward Spencer, Sr. and Nancy Relia Bingham Spencer.  She grew up and attended school in Santa Anna.  In 1955 she married Charlie F. Menges in Brownwood and he preceded her in death in 1982.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Eugena Conner and husband Bill of Santa Anna, Texas and Doris Bell Hemken of Ulysses, Kansas; one son, Henry E. Smith and wife Barbara of Batesville, Indiana; one niece, Jimmie Louise Reese of Mount Bellview, Texas; one nephew, Joseph Edward Kalisek of Tatum, New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home.

Byrdie Alice Mathis, 95, passed away January 4, 2006 at her residence in Del Rio, Texas.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. today (Tuesday) January 10, 2006 at G. W. Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Del Rio with Rev. Bob Lockhart officiating.  Interment will be at Coleman City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, with Rev. She was born September 26, 1910 in Valera, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter Sandra K. Lockhart of Del Rio, Texas and grandchildren, Andrea and her husband Michael Brown of Bay City, Texas, Lisa and her husband Kelly Langham of Lake Jackson, Texas, Heather Lockhart of London, England, Jennifer Mathis Powell of Florida and Jason Mathis of Florida; also numerous nieces, nephews and great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hicks Mathis, and one son, Lynn Dalton Mathis.

Ruth Whitaker Livingston, age 96, a long-time Coleman resident, died Saturday, January 7, 2006 in Waco, Texas.  Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 9, 2006 at the Elm Street Church of Christ with Rick Hagelstein, a son-in-law, officiating.  Special memories were shared by a nephew, Bo Whitaker and a granddaughter, Ashley Hagelstein Sanders.  Burial followed in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Ruth Whitaker was born September 15, 1909 at Gail, Texas in Borden County to Bob and Hettie Whitaker.  After graduating from San Angelo High School, Ruth attended San Marcos State College and San Angelo Junior College.  Before her marriage, she worked for Ted Brown and Associates in San Angelo in the development of a large area of real estate.  On August 31, 1941, Ruth married Thomas Caskey Livingston, a former Coleman native.  She soon discovered her favorite roles in life as being a loving and supportive wife and mother creating a warm, hospitable home.

Years later, she added another joyful role to her life as she became known as "Nana" to her six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Each one of them, as well as all members of her family, believed each was her favorite.  Now we know that whoever she was with ... was her favorite!  She had the unique ability to make all of us feel special.  Words inadequately describe the special influence, humor, and spunk she added to all our lives.

Ruth and Caskey’s lives were centered around their shared love of God, their church life, and their pride in their family.  Coleman was home to them for most of their life together raising their daughters and being involved in church and community activities.  The couple celebrated almost 56 years of marriage before Caskey’s death on March 27, 1997.  In June of 2000, Ruth moved to Waco to be near her daughters and their families.

Surviving are Ruth’s two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary K. and Corydon Elliot of Hewitt and Thomasue and Rick Hagelstein of China Spring; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert Hugh and Jayne Whitaker of Abilene; six grandchildren, Stephanie Elliot Grosz and husband Rob of Hewitt, Ashley Hagelstein Sanders and husband David of China Spring, Robby Hagelstein and wife Maria of Hewitt, Amber Hagelstein Russell and husband James of Hewitt, Sari Elliot of Hewitt and Aubin Hagelstein of China Spring; eight great-grandchildren, Kolby and Rhett Grosz, Samantha, Scarlett and Susannah Sanders, Justin and Whitney Hagelstein and Kelton Russell; two nephews, Bo Whitaker and Bill Whitaker both of Abilene; and special friend, Lillie Rice, who became like a third daughter, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Robby Hagelstein, David Sanders, Rob Grosz, James Russell, Bo Whitaker and Bill Whitaker.

Mary Tom "Tony" Watson, age 86, of Trickham, Texas passed away Saturday, January 07, 2006 at 3:15 p.m. at the Bangs Nursing Home in Bangs, Texas.  Services will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Santa Anna with Rev. Helen Brock officiating.  Interment will follow at the Shields Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Mary Tom was born on October 24, 1919 in Shields, Texas to the late Ewell Sheridan and Ida Perry Jones.  She was reared in Shields Community graduating from Santa Anna High School and attended Tarleton State University.  On December 25, 1941 she married Oran Hollas Watson in Shields, Texas and celebrated sixty-three years of marriage.  Tony was a lifetime resident of Coleman County where she was a member of the Baptist Church and Trickham Quilting Club and she was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Bill Watson of Santa Anna, Texas; eight grandchildren, Mitzi Watson of Brownwood, Texas, Tracy Rainer of Eagle River, Alaska, Wynndi Caldwell of Anchorage, Alaska, Jodi Watson of Santa Anna, Texas, Sandi Watson of Santa Anna, Texas, Shane Watson of Tucson, Arizona, Shelby Watson of Smithville, Texas, Shannon Watson of Smithville, Texas;  10 great-grandchildren;  and one great-great-grandchild.

Tony was preceded in death by son, Tommy Watson, in 1997.  Pallbearers will be Shane Watson, Derrick Barnett, Chase Barnett, Dennis Barnett, Holden Hronek, Randy Scarborough.  Honorary pallbearers include Jack McCreary, William Pay Rainer, Treavor Caldwell, Joe Caldwell, Donnie Campbell, Melvin Lawrence, Scotty Lawrence.

Neoma (Sally) Dawson, age 92 of Coleman, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Coronado Nursing Center in Abilene.  Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Warren Canady officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Sally was born Lela Neoma Kimbrell on September 28, 1913 in Gatesville, the daughter of Marcos Edward Kimbrell and Bertie Ann Rainer.  She attend school at Novice and Silver Valley.  She married George Goodrich Dawson on June 29, 1930 in Novice.  He preceded her in death on June 21, 1972.  She worked at Holiday Hill Nursing Home as a Nurse¹s Aide and was a member of Concho Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Robbie and Rev. Warren Canady of Odessa; one son and daughter-in-law, George and Mary Dawson of Tuscola; one sister and brother-in-law, Cleo and C. C. Risner of Mountain View, Arkansas, eight grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.  Family visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bill Carter, age 77, of Coleman, died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Lawrence officiating, assisted by Richard Easterling.  Burial followed in the Santa Anna Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

He was born Billy Frank Carter on April 24, 1928 in Coleman County, the son of Samuel C. Carter and Mary Jane Hamiter Carter.  He attended school in the Buffalo community.  He married Carabell Lockett on September 17, 1954 in Lamesa.  She preceded him in death on March 18, 1977.  He later married Betty Gilliam on July 10, 1999 in Snyder.  He worked for the last 10 years at Coleman County Medical Center in the Building and Maintenance Department and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Santa Anna.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Carter of Coleman; five daughters, Dorothy Bell of Colorado City, Diane Rich of Alvin, Betty Pietkiewicz of Niagara Falls, New York, Cathy Hale of Coleman, Benona King of Mesquite; two brothers, Alton Carter of Lamesa, James Carter of Scurry; two sisters, Lou Ellen Bland of Pilot Point, Lucille Norris of Big Spring; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, five brothers and an infant son, Stanley Calvin Carter.  Memorials may be made to the Coleman County Medical Center, 2nd Mile Fund, 310 South Pecos, Coleman, Texas 76834.

Cleo "Buddy" Croft, age 75 of Coleman, died Monday, January 9, 2006, at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rocky Lindley officiating, assisted by Rev. Don Northway and Rev. Billy Roberts.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Buddy was born August 23, 1930 in Coleman, the son of Walter Cleo Croft and Velma M. Wesson Croft.  He attended school in Coleman and served in the National Guard.  He married Ila Mavis Preas on August 11, 1949 in Coleman.  Buddy was a truck driver and a member of Bible Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Croft of Coleman; four sons, Wayne Croft of Early, Gigger Croft of Freeport, Bobby Croft of Coleman, Buddy Croft of Abilene; five daughters, Margie Valdez of Brownwood, Debbie Dunn of Sulphur Springs, Tammy Thomas of Branson, Missouri, Opal Fletcher of Coleman, Marie Mills of Coleman; six sisters, June Laws of Breckenridge, Nita Kay of Breckenridge, Minnie Grace Cantrell of Bangs, Louise Miller of Bangs, Willie Malone of Breckenridge, Bessie Brown of Breckenridge; 27 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Croft and two brothers, W. A. Croft and Clyde Croft.  Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Erma Trent, age 82, of Cross Plains, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.  Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Walters officiating.  Burial will follow in the Burkett Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman, Texas.

She was born Erma Crawley on April 24, 1923 in Limestone County, Texas, a daughter of the late Willie and Verna Newton Crawley.  She grew up in Mexia and attended school at Cotton Gin.  In 1941 she married Ray Trent in Groesbeck, Texas and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1990.  Mrs. Trent lived in Denver City from 1944-1988, moving to Cross Plains in 1988.  She was a housewife and a member of Highway 206 Baptist Mission.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Ray Trent and wife Ellen of Crane, Texas and Wayland Trent and wife Lisa of Denver City, Texas; two daughters, Glenda Faye Bunning and husband Ted and Peggy Joyce Birchbauer all of Columbia Heights, Minnesota; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bud Crawley of Mexia, Texas; two sisters, Leta Glass of Mexia, Texas and Lee West of Wortham, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill Williams, age 94, of Santa Anna, Texas passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at 12:50 a.m. at the Bangs Nursing Home in Bangs, Texas.  Services will be today  (Thursday) at 11:00 a.m. graveside at the Cleveland Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Jones officiating.  Services are under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

He was born William Carroll Williams on May 6, 1911 in McCulloch, Texas to the late Thomas Jefferson and Willie Sedelia Jackson Williams.  Bill was a lifetime resident of Coleman County where he attended the Cleveland Schools.  Bill was a stockfarmer.

Survivors include two nieces, Peggy Drapo of Denton, Texas and Glenna Stearin of Taoawonda, New York; first cousins, Maurine Byrd of San Angelo, Texas,  Beatrice Peacher of Chula Vista, CA and several other cousins.

Clydene Estelle Russ, 88, of Socorro, New Mexico formerly of San Angelo, died Tuesday, January 10, 2006 in a local hospital.  Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 in Johnson¹s Funeral Home Chapel in
San Angelo.  Burial will follow in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.

Clydene was mother, wife and major player to her family and husband.  She lived in many countries with her husband who worked building schools for the state department.  For many years she helped support her family operating
the Spruce Cabin Lodge in Cloudcroft, New Mexico.  She was active in Eastern Star and was Past Matron of Concho 826 Eastern Star.  She was active as a member of the Texas Porcelain Art Club.  Most of all, she was a mother, and she will be remembered most for the love she brought to the task.  She will be missed.

Survivors include a son, Robert F. Russ IV and wife Annette of Chico, California; a daughter, Mariann Patterson and husband Jim of Bingham, New Mexico; grandchildren, Robert F. Russ V of Chico, California, Lori Russ Miller and husband Sean of Haden, Idaho, Jamie Fine and husband Troy of Fort Collins, Colorado, Dr. Leah Madsen and husband Heath of Greenville, Texas, Loren Patterson and wife Casey of Encino, New Mexico; great-grandchildren, Melissa Swanke, Jacey and Bailey Miller, Kayce, Dane, Riley and Kyra Madsen, Moriah and Elysha Fine.

Rena Jones, age 93, of Novice, died Thursday, January 12, 2006 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 15 at Novice Baptist Church with Brother Larry Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Rough Creek Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.

She was born Rena Sheffield on February 7, 1912, in Talpa, Texas, a daughter of James Thomas Sheffield and Fannie Elizabeth Conner Sheffield.  She grew up in Concho County and attended school at Concho.  On December 23, 1928 she married Lee Jones in San Antonio and he preceded her in death in 1978.  She moved to Novice in November 1930 and was the oldest member of the Novice Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Fannie Nixon of Duncanville, Texas and Kathy Rose and husband Larry of Coleman; two granddaughters, Debbie Lee and husband Tim of Garland and Tommie Irwin and husband Gene of Ovilla; one grandson, Joe Lee Rose and wife Sandra of Coleman; five great-granddaughters, 2 great-grandsons; four great-great grandsons; one brother, David Sheffield and wife Marjorie of Grosvenor; two sisters-in-law, Avis Sheffield of Brownwood and Lucille Sheffield of Paint Rock; numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends; one special soul-mate, her puppy, the last 11 years, Fifie.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Barbara Ellen in 1959; one grandson, Thomas Nixon in 1956; four brothers, Irvin, Clyde, Ed and Elma Sheffield; two sisters, Clara Conley and Lela Thompson.

Ygnacio "Nacho" Castillo, 84, of San Angelo passed away Friday, January 13, 2006 in San Angelo.  Rosary was 7 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2006 at St. Margaret¹s Catholic Church.  Mass of Christian Burial was at 1 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2006 at St. Margaret¹s Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Droll as celebrant.  Interment followed in Eola/Mereta Cemetery.  Johnson¹s Funeral Home of San Angelo was in charge of arrangements.

Ygnacio was born April 20, 1921 in Coleman, Texas to his parents, Mucio Castillo and Natividad Alonzo Castillo.  He served in the United States Army in C Company 410th Infantry in the 103rd Division from 1942 to 1946, and he received numerous medals and honors.  Among them were the American Theatre Campaign Medal, the EAME Campaign Medal with two Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory MEdal and the Purple Heart.  He was a member of the Purple Hearts of VFW and the Knights of Columbus.  Ygnacio married Geneva Gonzales on February 3, 1946.  He was a longtime resident of San Angelo and worked with the civil service at Goodfellow Air Force Base for 25 years, retiring in 1982.  Castillo enjoyed cooking and provided catering services for numerous social events.  He was also a longtime volunteer at both Sacred Heart Cathedral and St. Margaret¹s Parish.  He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Ygnacio is survived by his wife, Geneva Castillo of San Angelo; children, Roberto Castillo and wife Beatris of San Angelo, Ygnacio Castillo, Jr. of Garden Grove, California, Jorge Castillo of El Paso and Margarita Castillo of San Angelo; grandchildren, Paul and wife Cynthia, Diana, Vanessa, Danny, Jessica, Alyssa, Edward and Nathan; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Eddie, Jessie, Albert and Raymond Castillo all of San Angelo; and one sister, Eloisa Zuniga of San Angelo.

Pallbearers for the service were the Purple Hearts of the VFW.

Violet Mae Watson, age 95, of Gorman, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2006 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Gorman, Texas.  Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at the Desdemona Church of Christ, conducted by Larry Stogsdill.  Burial followed in the Alameda Cemetery.

She was born February 2, 1910, in the Jake Hammon Community, Comanche County, Texas, to the late John Dalton White and Fannie Mae Brazell White.  She was united in marriage to Roy O. Watson on June 30, 1925, in Eastland County, Texas.  Mrs. Watson was a homemaker; had resided most of her life in the Alameda Community, 5 miles south of Desdemona; member of Desdemona Church of Christ.

Survivors include: two sons, Dalton Watson of Alameda and B. G. Watson of Coleman; one daughter Darlivon Zink of Gorman; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband Roy O. Watson on February 13, 1990; two brothers Melvin White and Troy White and one sister Beatrice Strong.

Mr. Elzie Cleo Hull, 80, of Coleman, passed away at his residence January 16, 2006.  Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Wednesday, January 18, 2006) at 2:00 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Sam Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Trickham Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

Mr. Hull was born January 19, 1925 in Coleman, Texas, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Evie Wells Hull.  He was married to Miss Ruby Tolbert in Coleman on September 9, 1945 and had lived in Coleman all of his life.  He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ of Coleman.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby of Coleman; one daughter, Patsy and husband Charles McKenzie of Cross Plains, Texas; two sons, Jake Hull of Coleman and Bobby and wife Tammy Hull of Santa Anna, Texas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Family visitation will be held tonight (Tuesday) from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home.

Graveside service for Aline Reinbach, 91, of Kilgore, formerly of Kerrville, Texas, will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2005 at the Santa Anna Cemetery, Santa Anna, Texas with the Reverend Dr. William J. Ingersoll officiating.  Mrs. Reinbach died Tuesday, January 17, 2005 in Kilgore.  Local arrangements with Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

Aline Harper Reinbach, age 91, was born April 2, 1914, in Santa Anna, Texas and was an honor graduate of Santa Anna High School in 1931.  She attended Tarleton State College and West Texas State Teacher’s College.  She taught elementary school in Fredericksburg, Texas for many years, and accepted an appointment to serve on the World War II Price and Rationing Board.  She married Max O. Reinbach in 1946, and in 1948, they were founding members of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fredericksburg.  She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997, and beloved daughter, Mary, in 2001.  She was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed oil painting.  She was a 60-year member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville, Texas.

She is survived by her son Max, Jr., and daughter-in-law Susan, of Kilgore, Texas, her grandchildren, Elise Reinbach of New York City, and Max Reinbach, III., of Austin.

Mary Mitchell Ray, age 90, of Alpine, Texas died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at Alpine Valley Care Center.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with her son, Dr. Jerry Mitchell, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Mary Lena Moore on April 2, 1915 in Grosvenor, Texas, the daughter of Urias Pleasant Moore and Mary Elizabeth Green Moore.  She grew up in the Coleman area and graduated from Coleman High School.  She was married to Wilbur Mitchell and he preceded her in death in 1960.  She later married O. F. Hamilton and lived in Granbury, Texas; he preceded her in death.  She was married to Richard Ray and lived in Andrews.  He preceded her in death.  Mrs. Ray moved to Alpine 11 years ago.  While living in Coleman she worked as a secretary for an insurance agency.  In Andrews she owned and operated an insurance agency.  She was a Baptist.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Mitchell of Abilene, Texas and Dr. Jerry Mitchell of Alpine, Texas; one daughter, Maurine White; five grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Willis Moore, in 2005.

Cliffie Mae Henderson age 84 of Coleman, Texas went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband Jack, Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1:10 p.m. at the Care, Inc. in Brownwood, Texas.  Services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Coleman with Rev. Gary Boyd and Rev. Charlie Fortenberry officiating.  Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Coleman.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

 Mae was born in Linden County, Texas on April 13, 1921 to the late George Washington and Lillie Lea Brock Harris.  She was raised in Lamesa attending the Lamesa Schools.  On December 23, 1942 Mae married Jackson Thomas Henderson in Brownfield, Texas and they celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage.  Jack preceded her in death in 2001.  Mae has been a resident of Coleman since 1982 moving here from Lovington, New Mexico.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church and Esther Sunday School Class and she was a Homemaker.

Suriviors include:  two daughters, Gloria and husband Bill Terry of Moulton, Alabama; Lillie and husband Jim Walters of Lake Brownwood, Texas; two sons: Thomas and wife Ann Henderson of Byers, Colorado, Pat and wife Tricia Henderson of Coleman, Texas; twin sister, Faye Washburn of Bentonville, Arkansas; two brothers, John Harris of Lamesa, Texas, and Gerald Harris of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Butch Anders, Jerry Hubbard, Rick Marshall, Jay Moses, Scott Ogden and Keith Phillips.

LaNell Brusenhan age 81 of Rockwood, Texas passed away Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 7:31 p.m. at Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood.  Services will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Rockwood Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Dean officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rockwood Cemetery directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.  The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

Nell was born in Brownwood, Texas on April 12, 1924 to the late Ralph Waldo and Mary Elizabeth Stone Emerson.  She was raised in Brownwood graduating in 1931 from Brownwood High School then continuing her education at Beautician School.  On December 19, 1952 Nell married Laurence ‘Junior’ Brusenhan in Brownwood and they celebrated fifty-one years of marriage.  Junior preceded her in death in 2003.  Nell has been a resident of Rockwood since 1952 where she was a member of the Rockwood Baptist Church, Rockwood Quilting Club, Rockwood Women’s Club and Discipleship Training Class.  Nell was a homemaker.

Survivors include: one son, Jody and his wife Rhonda Brusenhan of New Braunfels, Texas; four daughters: Anita Broadway and husband Joe O’Leary of Austin, Texas; Mary Hetts of Memphis, Tennessee; Loretta Highsmith of Billings, Montana; Judy and husband Stan Martin of Denver, Colorado; nine grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sam Gleaton, Joe O’Leary, Stan Martin, Robert Meyer, Mike Pritchard and Harold Underwood.  In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial be made to The Gideons or Rockwood Baptist Church.

Dorothy Liles, age 82 of Fresno, California and former Coleman resident, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at Community Living Center in Fresno.  Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Burkett Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Dick Shultz officiating.  Burial will follow, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

She was born Dorothy Lee Eddy on march 12, 1923 in Choteau, Oklahoma, the daughter of Marvin Eddy and Sula Braxton Eddy.  Dorothy grew up and attended school in Oklahoma.  She married Ray Liles on August 21, 1939 in Fresno.  He preceded her in death on August 2, 1996.  Dorothy lived in California until 1980, when she moved to Coleman.  She later returned to California in 1996.

Survivors include six sons, Ken Liles, Jack Liles and Don Liles, all of Coleman, Gary Liles, David Liles and Jimmy Liles, all of Fresno, California; four daughters, Carolyn Meroney and Patty Liles, both of Coleman, Wanda Roberson of Marble Falls, Linda Rodriquez of Fresno and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mary "Barbara" Fox age 63 joined her heavenly father on Friday, January 20, 2006 at her residence in Channelview, Texas.  Services will be Monday at 4:30 p.m. at Santa Anna Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Don Efird officiating.  Interment will follow at the Santa Anna Cemetery directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.

She was born on October 6, 1942 in Santa Anna to the late Scott and Mary Hoopes Wallace.  Mary graduated from Robstown High School in 1961.  She married Hurshel Don Fox and they celebrated 43 years of marriage.  Mary was a longtime resident of Channelview and served that community as letter carrier 26 years.

Survivors include: her husband, Don Fox of Channelview, Texas; children: Mary and husband Mark Ables of Mount Belvieu, Texas; Donnie and wife Tammy Fox of Channelview, Texas; Stefanie Fox-Marin and husband Rafael Marin of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren: Eric and Andrea Ables, Lacee and Amelia Fox, Marissa and Amanda Marin, step-grandson, Corey Pogue; one brother, Scott Wallace of Dayton; three sisters: Suzanne Young of Waco; Margaret Staley of Pasadena; Janenne Gracey of Houston; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael Lynn Dean, age 51 of Coleman, died Friday, January 20, 2006 at Coleman County Medical Center.  Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mike was born August 18, 1954 in Coleman, the son of Betty Hill Dean and the late Billy Jack Dean.  He grew up and attended school in Houston.  On June 27, 1988, he married Debby Wheeler in Houston.  He was a carpenter and painter and was baptized at Harmony Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Debby Dean of Coleman, two daughters, Jennifer Dean and Jessica Dean both of Coleman; his mother, Betty Dean of Houston, a sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Francisco Medina of Houston; three uncles, J.P. Dean of Mississippi, James Dean of California, Othell Dean of Coleman; an aunt Bettie Witt of Coleman; his mother-in-law, Sandra Dean of Coleman; a sister-in-law, Rosean Dean of Spring, Texas and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Billy Wayne Dean.

Funeral services for H. R. Steward, 91, of Brady were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25th at First Baptist Church of Brady with Rev. Blake O¹Dell officiating.  Burial, with military honors was in Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady.  Leatherwood Memorial Chapels of Brady was in charge of arrangements.  He died Saturday, January 21, 2006, in Brady.

He was born October 22, 1914, in Rockwood to Howard Reed and Elizabeth Emaline (Caldwell) Steward.  On March 26, 1952, he was married to Essie Charline Wood in San Antonio.  Mr. Steward was a retired civil service employee who worked as an aircraft inspector at Kelly Field in San Antonio.  He worked over 21 years as an assistant funeral director in Brady, many of those at Colonial Funeral Home which is now Leatherwood Memorial Chapels.  He attended Howard Payne University.  Mr. Steward attended First Baptist Church in Brady; was a member of the VFW Post No. 3234 in Brady and a veteran of the Air Corps, serving during World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Nolan R. Steward of Teague and Terry L. Steward of  Lubbock; a daughter, Cheryl Riddles and husband Anthony of Montrose, Colo.; three grandchildren; and longtime companion Betty McMillan of Brady.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Charline; a brother; three sisters; and one grandchild.

J. D. J. D. was a western sales rep and auctioneer, who loved meeting people and making new friends.  He loved the wide open spaces of West Texas and the solitude and peace of the mountains.  Relaxation meant plowing the field in Coleman at The Place.  He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Mrs. Louise "Lou" Dawkins Morton, age 73, of Glen Cove, passed away at 11:45 p.m. January 22, 2006 at Brownwood Regional Hospital.  Funeral services will be today (Thursday January 26th) at 2:30 p.m. at the 2nd Baptist Church in Winters with the Reverends Jeff Gore and Farris Akins officiating.  Burial will follow at the Glen Cove Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Coleman.

Daughter of the late Richard and Stella Hickson Brown, she was born June 23, 1932 in Knox County, where she also was reared and attended school.  On December 15, 1995, she married Curtis Morton in Tom Green County and moved to Glen Cove.  Lou was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church of Winters.

She is survived by her husband Curtis of Glen Cove; three daughters, Betty Dawkins of Carlsbad, Texas, Amanda Kay Dawkins of Hillsboro, and Melissa Dawkins of the home; one step-daughter Patricia Darlene Batla of Wingate; four step-sons, Wayne and Sherman Morton of Glen Cove, and Farion and David Morton of Brady; two sisters; Jo Ann Hickson of Jefferson and Fae Clevinger of Clinton, Missouri; and two brothers, Don and Clarence Brown of Odessa.  Also surviving are 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Margaret Harkness, preceded her in death in 2001.

Theresa Yettive Fletcher, 83, of Bandera (formerly of Clyde), died Sunday, January 22, 2006 in a San Antonio hospital.  Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Carrol Hines officiating.  Graveside services followed at 2:00 p.m. at the Valera Cemetery in Coleman County, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Fletcher was born January 18, 1923 in Coleman to Walter Benjamin and Olletha Saloma (Farrar) Corum.  She grew up in Valera, where she graduated from high school.  She was the widow of Charles Fletcher, whom she married on March 23, 1941 in Coleman.  They moved to Clyde from McCamey in 1987.  She moved to Bandera in 1998 from Clyde.  She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Clyde.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Dalton Fletcher of Seguin, Granville Bruce Fletcher of San Angelo and Rupert Charles Fletcher of Clyde; two daughters, Mary Denson of Bandera and Tommie Jean Finley of Douglasville; one brother, Dr. H. K. Corum  of Del Rio; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four grandchildren, one brother and one sister.

Graveside services for Lawrence L. Pruett, 88, of Early were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25 at Staley Cemetery with Lisa Nance officiating.  Mr. Pruett died Monday, January 23, 2006.

He was born April 26, 1917, and had lived in Early over 60 years.  He was a telephone company lineman.  On September 18, 1993, he was married to Jackie Duncan in Brownwood.

Survivors include a son, James Pruett of Early; a grandson, J. C. Pruett and wife Amanda of Brownwood; a grand daughter, Laura Pruett and husband Robert of Brownwood;  numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, J. W. Pruett of Rockwood, Charles Pruett and wife Joann of Brownwood; a sister, Mary Lou Swan and husband Jack of Brownwood;  wife Jackie Duncan Pruett of Brownwood; step-children, Robert E. Nance and wife Lisa of Brownwood, James D. Nance and wife Amy of Blanket, Lynda Bible of Santa Anna, Russelle Burkeen of Brownwood and Wynona Y. Pruett of Brownwood; and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Bertha Lucille Sawyer Pruett; parents, Charles Coleman and Mattie Spain Pruett; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Mae Allen, age 93 of Leaday, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at her home in southern Coleman County.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Smith officiating, assisted by Rev. Mark Smith.  Burial will be in the Leaday Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Mae was born June 19, 1912 in Shep, Texas, in Taylor County.  She was the youngest of twelve children born to David Smith Self and Julia Ann Hawkins Self.  She met Ralph Allen in 1930 when he was in the area tending to a herd of sheep his family was pasturing in Nolan County.  Ralph loved to tell about seeing Mae and her sister sitting on a bridge near her home, waving to passers-by.  He said she was the prettiest girl he had ever seen.  Mae married Ralph on March 29, 1931 in Shep.  They were constant companions - from the early days in sheep shearing camps to managing their ranching interests in southern Coleman County.  They were married 72 years before his death on January 19, 2003.  And, he never changed his mind about MaMae.  In the late 1980's, Mae learned that the coming of Lake Ivie would destroy the historic Day Ranch Headquarters.  So she and Ralph took on the task of moving the structure.  The had it moved to their property, and it became their home in 1993.

Mae is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Diane Allen of Mozelle; a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and William Earl Jones of Voss; six grandchildren, Kevin Allen and wife, Ronda of Mozelle, James Allen of Mozelle, Danny Allen and wife, Kim of Santa Anna, Donny Allen and wife, Gloria of Bronte, Juliann Page of Coleman and Jeanene Pricer and husband Johnny of Fisk; 10 great-grandchildren, Keva, Kenna and Gus Allen; Jett Allen; Boone and Alyssa Allen; Matthew and Lauren Allen; Vanessa Page and Allen Pricer. Also surviving Mae is a sister, Nell Walker of Bronte, a special niece, Cleo Corcoran of Greenville and a dear friend, Yetta Masters.

She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Warren Allen in 1968 and her husband Ralph in 2003.

Oliver Jennings, age 86, of Valera, Texas died at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder, Texas on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.  Rosary was Sunday at 7 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services were Monday, January 30, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Interment followed in the Voss Cemetery, under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Oliver was born in Voss, Texas on November 24, 1919 to Oliver J. and Maggie Ford Jennings, one of 12 children.  He was educated in the Valera Schools.  He was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Laramie, Wyoming, then enlisted in the Army at Fort Bliss in 1942.  He served at Pine Camp, New York as a sergeant. On January 16, 1943, he married Elizabeth Allen at Watertown, New York.  He transferred to Delaware Ordnance Depot in Pennsgrove, New Jersey for ordnance training in July of 1943, then on to Hawaii in January, 1944.  He served at the Schofield Barracks for one year, then one year on Canton Island in the Pacific in charge of the ammo depot until the end of the war.  Oliver returned to Watertown where he operated a barber shop until 1954 when the family moved to El Cajon, California where he built a strip mall and operated a barber shop until 1974, when the family moved to South Coleman County.

Oliver is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, Richard and wife Paula of Voss, David and wife Kathy of Bedford; three grandchildren, Chris Jennings of Coleman, Elizabeth Jennings of Voss and Jessica Jennings of Bedford; a sister, Viola Williams of Brownfield; and a nephew, Don and Mary Allen of San Diego, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Linda Mary Basse of San Antonio, who was killed in a tragic accident on December 27, 2001.

Marcella Greathouse of Abilene, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at her home.  Services were 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene with Rev. Msgr. Frederick Nawarskas officiating.  Interment followed in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home of Abilene.

Marcella, the daughter of Alex and Teresa Schubach, was born in San Antonio and moved to Abilene in 1965.  That same time she married Myrle Greathouse, who preceded her in death in 2000.  Mrs. Greathouse was a past board member of Harmony Family Services and the Noah Project, and currently on the board of the Medical Mission and the Greathouse Foundation.  She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Besides her husband, Myrle, and her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by four sisters.

Survivors include her son, Micah J. Greathouse and his wife, Erin of Rockwood, Texas; daughter, Sharon McDonald and her husband, Mike; two sisters, Diana Dail and Krys Shiroski; one brother, A. J. Schubach and his wife, Sandy; three grandchildren, Kobyn Greathouse, Kelly Taylor and Chris McDonald; and three great-grandchildren.

Raymond ‘Red’ Cupps age 84 of Santa Anna passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 9:46 a.m. at the Coleman County Medical Center in Coleman.  Graveside services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. James Ford officiating, interment will follow at the Cleveland Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna.  The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

Raymond was born on April 17, 1921 in Cleveland, Texas to the late Elmer Roscoe and Loving Pauline Baugh Cupps.  He was a lifetime resident of Coleman County where he attended the Cleveland Schools.  He was a World War II veteran serving in the Naval forces.  On August 11, 1947 Red married Ella Lee Stephens and they celebrated 30 years of marriage.  Ella preceded him in death in 1977.  Red was a retired stockfarmer.

Survivors include: two daughters, Louise Gray of Bedford, Texas and Judy Lutes of San Angelo, Texas; three sons, Jimmy Hendrix of Aurora, Colorado; Raymond Don Cupps of Santa Anna, Texas; Royce Cupps of Stephenville, Texas; one brother, Darrell Cupps of Santa Anna, Texas; three sisters, Ovella Williams of Santa Anna, Texas; Eunice Terry of Wautauga, Texas; Jean Cox of Christoval, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.

Raymond was preceded in death by a son, David Lynn Cupps in 1974.

Oscar N. "Buddy" Bard was born on January 23, 1921, in the family home on the Coleman and Brown County line in Texas.  He grew up in Coleman, Texas and graduated from Coleman High School.  He worked awhile in the local movie theaters until he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.  He served as chief photographer on numerous stateside bases and on Guam at the end of the war.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant in 1945.  He and his family moved to Harlingen in 1955.  He was a loan and finance manager, educator, business owner and real estate broker.  Mr. Bard was founder and president of Valley Central College in Harlingen, Brownsville and McAllen from 1967-1970.  For more than a decade, he was active in the mobile home and recreational vehicle industry in Texas.  In the mid-1980¹s  he taught real estate classes at TSTC and became a Realtor and broker with Bard¹s LifeStyle Real Estate.  He conceived and produced Harlingen¹s first Independence Day Parade "Texas Style" in 1986 and participated in organizing the July 4th parades in 1987 and 1988.  He also received a Distinguished Service Award for serving on the Cameron County Advisory Committee on Border Law Enforcement and Immigration Problems in 1989 and was a member of the Confederate Air Force.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally, and his parents, Lorena and Andrew Wright.

Barbra (Mrs. Jack) Moore, age 73 of Coleman, died Thursday, January 26, 2006 at her residence.  Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. John Stanislaw officiating.  Burial will follow in the Valera cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.  Family visitation will from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Barbra Ann Witte on March 17, 1933 in Lyons, Texas, a daughter of Herman Augustus Witte and Ida Mae Opperman Witte.  She grew up and attended school in Lyons.  On November 29, 1957, she married Jack B. Moore in Lyons.  She worked at the Jinright Sewing Factory and at Holiday Hill for a number of years.  She was a member of the Silver Threads and the Unity Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Jack B. Moore of Coleman, one daughter and son-in- law, Evyonne and Mike Curry of Coleman; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenny and Nivla Moore of Coleman; nine brothers and sisters, Herman Witte, Jr. and wife Leona of Caldwell, Havert Witte and wife Darlene of Houston, Ida Surovic of Caldwell, Gussie Witte and wife Erna of Houston, Elfred Witte of Lake Livingston, Ernest Witte and wife Gloria of Brenham, Mae Kirk and husband Curtis of Fort Worth, M. C. Knesek of Hempstead, J. C. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Witte and Carl Witte.

Glenda Nell West Benton, 70, of Fort Worth, passed away Friday, January 27, 2006 in Fort Worth.  Funeral services will be today (Tuesday), January 31, 2006 in Watauga and burial will be at Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery in Fort Worth.  Arrangements are under the direction of Shannon Funeral Home in Watauga.

She was born in Coleman County, Texas on November 28, 1935 to the late Dudley and Vera West.  She married Johnny Benton in 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1989.  She was retired from Minyards Supermarket.

She is survived by three daughters, Becky Diaz of Calico Rock, Arkansas, Melissa Pettit and Tracy Neidholt, both of Fort Worth; a sister, Gwen West Neves of Graham; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gladys S. Connelley, 91 years of age, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Coleman.  Memorial services will be tomorrow (Wednesday) at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. D. G. Allen officiating at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Connelley was born September 30, 1914 in Santa Anna, Texas, the daughter of the late James V. and Nellie Emma Strickland.  She was a resident of Coleman until 1955, and moved back to Coleman in 1987.  She was a nurse.

Survivors include one daughter, Lee Konkle of Coleman; two grandchildren, Susan McKnight of Kentucky and Marla Honaker of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Candic Docker of Rockwood and Josh Daniels of Santa Anna.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son.  Memorials may be made to the Coleman Public Library.

Florida Phillips, 93, of Abilene passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006.  Graveside services were 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006 at the Clyde Cemetery with Brother David Cason and Brother H. B. Terry officiating.  Services were under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home of Abilene.

Florida was born on February 4, 1912 in Santa Anna, Texas to W. H. Phillips and Mary (Cooper) Phillips.  She graduated from Denton Valley High School in 1931.  Ms. Phillips was employed by the U. S. Times and T. S. Lankford and Son.  She was also a seamstress for Rita Barber.  She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene.

Ms. Phillips was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers, Littleton Phillips in 1990 and Hugh Phillips in 2005; and one sister, Florence Phililps.

She is survived by her cousin, Gayla Corley and her husband Charles of Abilene; one sister-in-law, Madie Phillips of Abilene; two step-nephews. Dr. Ernest Harmon and his wife Cindy of Kingman, Arizona and Tom Harmon and his wife Shirley of Windom, Texas; one step-niece, Judy Underwood and her husband Dale of Odessa; her church family and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Doris Ann Pearson, 63, of Franklin, formerly of Brady were 11 a.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Evans officiating.  Burial followed at 2 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Grosvenor, under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home.  Mrs. Pearson died Saturday, January 28, 2006, in Bryan.

She was born on February 16, 1942, in Barksdale, Louisiana to Everett James and Alberta Pearl (Batterson) Mays.

Survivors include one daughter, Tona Holland of Trickham; two sons, Elmer Neal Hallford, Jr. of Brady and Everett Mooring of Sebring, Florida; three brothers, Gerald Mays of Pickering, Ohio, George Mays of Fort Worth and Carl Mays of Dallas; one sister-in-law and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her daughter, Lottie Alberta Jewell Owens; and her sister, Charlotte (Mays) Onstott.

Delma Matthews, age 78, of Coleman, died Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Anson General Hospital in Anson.  Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Gouldbusk Cemetery Pavilion.  A Memorial Service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rodney Martin officiating.  Services are under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.  Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

She was born Delma Lee Martin on September 2, 1928 in Gouldbusk, the daughter of Barney Martin and Mae Pearl Martin.  She grew up in Gouldbusk and attended school at Mozelle.  She married Carl P. Matthews on March 16, 1946 in Fort Worth.  He preceded her in death on December 9, 2005.  She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Matthews and David Dismukes of Waco; son and daughter-in- law, Ted Matthews and Betsy King of Anson; one grandson, Matthew King of Anson and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband three brothers and one sister: Dewey Martin, Ray Martin, Bill Martin and Zelma Martin. 

Pallbearers will be the Martin nieces, Lazelle, Brenda, Terry, Tammy, Shelly, Celia and Pam.  Memorials may be made to the Donor’s favorite charity.

Martha Trixie Gallaway, 63, of Farmington, New Mexico, formerly of Bryan, Texas passed away January 30, 2006 at her home in Farmington.  Graveside services will be held in Coleman, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home and Crematory in Farmington.

Martha moved to Farmington in 1980 and married William M. Gallaway.  Martha and her husband Bill owned and operated the Diamond Peak Ranch in Carrizozo, New Mexico.  They were also renowned in the horse breeding and racing community, having won countless awards for being the top breeders in New Mexico.

She is survived by Ann Boriskie of Bryan, Texas; Edgar Ilschner of Keller, Texas; Mary Kosh of Bryan, Texas; and Ethel Mayfield of Belton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Estelle Weaver, age 90, of Coleman, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Coleman Healthcare Center.  Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2006 at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.  Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born Estella Francis Stanphill on February 4, 1915 in Echo, the daughter of Will Stanphill and Ethel Beeler Stanphill.  She grew up in Echo and attended school at Echo and Indian Creek.  She married James Monroe Weaver in November, 1937 in Ballinger.  He preceded her in death on July 12, 1992.  She lived in Coleman county all her life, was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Survivors include two sons, Bob Weaver of Coleman, Dee Weaver of Novice; four daughters, Shirley Crisler of San Antonio, RoAnn Pevy of Minden, Louisiana, Bessie Bomar of Bryan, Marilyn Garrett of Dallas; one brother, Bill Stanphill of Coleman; one sister, Balmorhea Waddell of San Antonio; nine grandchildren: Lance, Lissa, Susan, Justin, Doug, Mindy, Tisha, Chris, Jody and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Bowers, Marie Stanphill; two brothers, Cleburne Stanphill, Charles Stanphill; two sons, Douglas Weaver, Will Weaver and one grandson, Brett Pevy.

Lorena Estelle Sumners, 89, of Abilene passed away January 31, 2006.  Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday at North¹s Memorial Chapel in Abilene with Jack Staples officiating.  Burial followed at Elmwood Memorial Park.

Lorena Sumners was born February 9, 1916 to Willie and Ivy Bates in Novice, Texas.  She married James E. Sumners February 10, 1934 in Coleman, Texas.  In 1940, she moved to Abilene where she was a homemaker.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church and the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966, one daughter Ineta Cook, one granddaughter Christie Cook, her parents, and two brothers.

She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Petersen and husband Jack (Pete) and Nelda Kossa, all of Abilene; seven granddaughters; one grandson; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Pearl Palmer of Granbury, Wauree Saverance of Childress, and Wanda Cummings of Grapevine; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
