Son of Former CCMC Administrator Michael Morris Zachary Morris, the son of former Coleman County Medical Center Administrator Michael Morris, died this past Thursday morning, December 1st following an accidental fall near his fraternity house at M.I.T., Boston. Morris, a freshman, was 19 years old. According to reports, Morris had gone to dinner Wednesday night with friends at a restaurant on Franklin Street in Boston. Afterwards, Morris did not go home with them but ended up at the East India Wharf where a surveillance camera showed him looking at the water, climbing a fence, then falling and hitting his head. The accident occurred around midnight, according to news office representative Denise Brehm. There was no foul play, nor suicidal behavior indicated, reported Associate Dean for students, Robert M. Randolph. Baker House residents commented afterwards about their friend and housemate. “Certainly we will miss him; this was a tragedy and there was no foul play, no one else involved,” said housemaster Guillermo Trotti. “House neighbor Reginald Edwards, another freshman, said, “he was really into sports, football and was hardworking -- just a great guy. Never saw him without a smile on his face.” Another Baker resident, Morgan Scully, commented, “what struck me about him was that he was so happy - always in a good mood.” Two other freshmen floormates - Kathryn Routheir and Brittany Guyer said, “he was one to make a lot of friends and Zach got along with everyone. He was genuinely a nice kid and so fun to be around.” Locally, the Coleman High School Class of 2005 sent a silk floral basket to the Morris family. This was sent to the family in memory of Zach. Arletta O’Shields at Coleman Elementary made a plea for everyone to keep the Morris family in their prayers.
