Funeral
services for Milton L. Walker, 67, of Coleman, who was fatally injured
in a dynamite explosion at Santa Anna, were held at 10 o'clock Tuesday
morning in Coleman.
Walker was injured about noon Saturday when dynamite exploded prematurely while he was working on the excavation of a house under construction. He planned to live in Santa Anna. Services were held at the J. E. Stevens Funeral Chapel, with Rev. J. W. Whitefield of the First Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Coleman Cemetery. Mr. Walker died at 3 o'clock Sunday morning (July 12, 1947) at Sealy Hospital in Santa Anna. Mr. Walker was a retired wholesale oil dealer. He was born February 5, 1880 in Brenham, Texas, and formerly resided in Gouldbusk. Survivors are the widow; his mother, Mrs. B. L. Walker of Coleman; one son, M. L. Walker, Jr., Austin; three daughters, Mrs. L. L. Pegram of Lampasas, Mrs. Jack London of Coleman, and Mrs. M. P. Egan of Chicago, Illinois; six sisters, Mrs. Eula Matthews of California, Mrs. J. A. D. Cooper of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Miss Bessie Walker of Big Spring, and Mrs. F. E. Rich, Mrs. Clyde Edens, and Mrs. Jack Durham, all of Coleman. Pallbearers wer R. L. Livingston, Marcus Durham, Charles Cooper, John Wallis, Glen Jameson, John Candler and Marshall McCrea. Flower bearers were Mrs. Marcus Durham, Margaret Jean Parker, Mrs. Marshall McCrea, Mrs. Frank Stringer, Mrs. Douglas Allen, Patsy Dibrell and Mrs. John Warren. Funeral services were held at Rockwood on July 14 for Mrs. Fannie Maye McIntire, 35, who died Sunday at Sealy Hospital in Santa.
Services were held at the Rockwood Methodist Church with the Rev. Royal Cotton officiating. Arrangements were by J. E. Stevens Company and burial was in Rockwood Cemetery. Mrs. McIntire was born August 27 1911, in Rockwood. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, W. H. McIntire, parents Mr. and Mrs. Matt Estes of Rockwood; a son, Billy Matt McIntire; three daughters, Olivian McIntire, Peggy Joe McIntire and Barbara Jane McIntire; three brothers, Herman Estes of Bovina, Texas, and a sister Mrs. Mattie Ella Martin of Vienna, Austria. Pallbearers were Roy Steward, Martin West, Marcus Johnson, Bailey Hull, Jack Cooper and Harold Straughan. Flower bearers were Mrs. Evan Wise, Mrs. S. A. Wise, Mrs. Roy Stewart, Mrs. Harold Lovelady, Mrs. Bill Brian, Mrs. Cecil Dalis, Mrs. Jack Cooper, Mrs. Miller Box, Mrs. Bill Stewart and Mrs. Johnny Steward. Mrs. Emmie Lobstein, 68, of Westbrook, Texas, died at her residence in that city on July 13. Funeral services for Mrs. Lobstein were held at Wright's Chapel in Coleman on July 14 with Rev. T. Lynn Stewart officiating. Burial was in Camp Colorado, with arrangements by Wright's Funeral Home. Mrs. Lobstein was born December 24, 1878, in Comanche County, Texas. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband, Charlie O. Lobstein; five sons, Noble Lobstein of Coleman, John Lobstein of Lamesa, Earnest Lobstein of Brawley, California, Charles Lobstein of Westbrook, and Alfred Lobstein of Brawley, California; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Clevenger of Coleman, and Mrs. Beulah Adams of Colorado City; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Graves of Floydada, Texas, Mrs. Hattie Hand of Harlingen, Texas and Mrs. Mary Frazier of Ranger, Texas.
