Coleman County, Texas Obituaries for March 1908
On Friday evening, March 6th, Mrs. Ashmore, the aged mother of Mr. Wm. Ashmore, died at the home of her son. Up to the Sunday before, Mrs. Ashmore was in reasonably good health, in fact much better than many people of her age. While sitting in church, she suffered an attach of neuralgia which soon affected her heart and was the cause of her death. Every medical aid and kind and loving nursing could avail nothing. Her children, five in number, came form different parts of the State and lent their loving care and devotion to their dear mother during her brief illness. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church of which Mrs. Ashmore had been a devoted member, by Rev. Mr. Baker. Interment took place at the Rockwood cemetery.
