David Cicero Neal, born May 12, 1871 in Giles County, Tennessee, and Florence Ella Mae Shelton, July 20, 1871 at Aspenhill, Tennessee, were married July 23, 1890.  One daughter, Mary Kate, was born before traveling west with the George Bevens family in covered wagons, reached Navarro County in 1892, where they lived for three years before moving on to Ellis County for one year.  The families then moved further west, reaching Trickham sometime in 1896.  Mr. Neal farmed for awhile about 15 miles south of Santa Anna after leaving Trickham and before he moved his family into Santa Anna.  While in Santa Anna, Mr. Neal was employed by the W. C. Neal heirs.  The Neals were charter members of the First Christian Church of Santa Anna.  Neal hauled the lumber from Brownwood for the church building.
