Johann Heinnich Frednich Langehennig was born June 1, 1830 in Lungburber, Germany.  He came to America in his early twenties and settled in Fredericksburg, Texas.  There he married Wilhelmina Zannet, August 12, 1857, born in Russia in 1840.  They had seven children, six born in Fredericksburg: John Henry, August 30, 1858; Wilhelm, June 1, 1860; Lina, September 1, 1866; Lois, February 13, 1867 in Pleasanton; Augustus, September 8, 1875; Bertha, August 30, 1868; and Alma, July 24, 1883.  Johann died August 12, 1903 and Wilhelmina in 1910, both in Fredericksburg.  John Henry married Ada Jane Nelson in Fredericksburg in 1886, born April 13, 1867 in Pleasanton, the daughter of Billy and Polly Ann (Patterson) Nelson.  They had ten children: Lela "Susue" (Pate), June 8, 1886 - November 19, 1962, buried in Leaday; Rosa Artie Victoria, March 20, 1890 - July 30, 1972, buried in Coleman; Max, December 25, 1893 - December 17, 1966, buried in Leaday; Nellie, October 1, 189S; Sutten (Sut), March 20, 1898, all born in Fredericksburg; Katherine, September 1, 1900 in San Angelo; John Henry, Jr., December 4, 1902 in Fredericksburg; Flora, June 2, 1905 in Leaday; Frederick Robert, June 2, 1907 in Coleman - September 19, 1970, buried in Leaday; and Polly, died as an infant.  John Henry and Ada lived in Leaday for many years.  He did farm and ranch work.  Their children were noted for their musical talent.  Henry died February 22, 1922, Ada, July 2, 1956, both in Killeen and both buried in Leaday.

Rosa Artie Victoria Langehennig married Robert Eugene Wilkins, May 2,1874 - February 25, 1949 in Coleman, the son of Levi, born in 1858 in Rome, Georgia, and Elizabeth (Allen) Wilkins, born in 1852 in Rome, on April 6, 1906 at Flat Rock Crossing at Stacy.  Robert and Rosa lived 26 years on the Josephine Ballard place just north of Coleman, near Lake Scarborough, where they farmed and broke mules and horses.  Their house was also noted for having some of the best Saturday night dances in Coleman.  They had nine boys:

(1) Ruben (Rube), February 3, 1907 in Leaday - July 7, 1962 in Coleman, married first Georgia Morris, one son, Louis Lee.  They divorced. He married second Sudie England, born February 5, 1908, on February 8, 1943.  One daughter, Roberta Eugena, October 25, 1946 in Coleman, married Kenny Mack Rider, October 17, 1963, two children, Paula, September 20, 1966 and Clay, August 27, 1970.

(2) Arnold John, June 3, 1908 in Leaday, married Alice McBride, born June 13, 1913 in Coleman, on August 14, 1929 in Coleman. Arnold was a plumber. Nine children:

(2a) Rosa Bell, May 19, 1931, married H. D. (Dick) Canady Jr., August 2,1948 (see Canady Family).  Three children:  Wanda, Raymond and Virgil.

(2b) Anna Louise, December 26, 1934, married Richard Fullen, four children.

(2c) Virgil Robert (Bobby), June 6, 1936, married Billie J., three children.

(2d) John Gerald, April 3, 1938, married Sue Kitchen, two daughters, Lynett and Connie.

(2e) Earl Wayne, February 7, 1942 in Merkel, received a medical discharge from the Navy because of cancer, died June 11, 1964 in Temple.

(2f) Sherman Ray (a twin) March 18, 1944 - April 7, 1973, buried in Leaday, married Viola Lancaster, four girls, Alice D., Rite, Rosa and Johnny.  They later divorced.

(2g) Shirley (a twin) March 18, 1944, married Roy Croft, four children, Larry, Roy Jr., Lynn and Vanessa.

(2h) Edith Darlene, December 14, 1945.

(2i) Kenneth Ray, October 8, 1949 - 1982, two children, Kenneth Jr. and Clinton.

(3) Isaac (Ike), June 5, 1910 in Stacy - November 26, 1979 in Coleman, married Winnie Kimmell, bonn July 27, 1913, January 9, 1933 in Coleman.  Ike farmed and worked many years for Stevens Hardware in which he retired.  Three daughters:
(3a) Ada Virginia Ann, October 6, 1934 in Coleman, married Tommy Bryan, two daughters, Cynthia and Beverly.

(3b) Norma Dell, March 22, 1936, married Donald Trull (see Trull Family).

(3c) Julia Fay, March 3,1938 in Coleman, married Norman Tucker, two children, Norman Eugene and Becky.

(4) Noah (Beck), March 12, 1915 in Millersview - September 19, 1947 in San Angelo, married Annie Ranney, September 6, 1938, later divorced.  Beck was a World War II veteran and was in an automobile accident near San Angelo, September 17, 1947.

(5) Daniel (Jim), October 22, 1917 in Paint Rock - August 16, 1981, married Lorene Tyler, born April 29, 1920 in Houston County, on October 3, 1937 in Coleman.  Jim was a carpenter and Lorene is a nurse at the Overall-Morris Memorial Hospital.  Four daughters:

(5a) Goldie Arlene, November 22, 1940 in Coleman, married Carl D. White, born July 14, 1938 in Brown County, on August 8, 1957 in Coleman.  Two children: Laura Carlene, December 18, 1959 and Carl Wayne, April 23, 1963, both born in Coleman.

(5b) Mary Jane, November 10, 1951 in Coleman, married Eddie Franklin Steffey, born May 25, 1950, on July 17, 1970 in Coleman, one son, Eddie Randall (Randy), November 19, 1971 in Abilene.

(5c) Jimmie Lee, December 7, 1954 in Coleman, married James Michael Posey born June 5, 1952 in Monahans, on April 2, 1971 in Coleman.  Two children: Sandy Michelle, January 28, 1972 in Coleman and James Daniel (Danny), April 10, 1977 in Santa Anna.

(5d) Becky Jean, December 12, 1956 in Coleman, married Billy Carl Matthews, born October 30, 1954 in Coleman, on June 12, 1975 in Coleman (see J. W. Slayton).  Two daughters: Barbi Chanel, June 4, 1978 and Brooke Diane, June 8, 1981, both born in Brownwood.

(6) Samuel, February 12, 1912 - February 1, 1914 at Dundee.

(7) Thomas died as an infant in 1913.

(8) Joseph (Joe), January 7, 1922 in Leaday, married Lois G. Ball, November 12, 1942 in Coleman, one daughter, Betty Rose, February 27, 1944 in Abilene.  She married Virgil Stokes, born May 23, 1937 in Abilene, on January 14, 1961 in Abilene.  Joe worked in oilfield related jobs.

(9) Robert Elijhia (Pete), May 27, 1924 in Santa Anna - June 13, 1977 in Coleman, married Annie B. Stovall, born June 4, 1932 in Silver Valley, on May 27, 1949 in Coleman.  Pete farmed and worked many years for Martin Brick Company and the City of Coleman.  Two daughters:

(9a) Virginia Gail, October 4, 1952 in Coleman, married first Mike L. Winston, born August 9, 1950 in Temple, August 16, 1971 in Coleman.  Two girls: Ashleah Leann, March 3, 1973 in Mountain Home, Idaho, and Lindsay Christen, August 2, 1977 in Santa Anna.  They divorced.  Gail married second Joe (Joey) Earl Hudson in 1980 in Coleman, one daughter, Jaci Lynne, November 10, 1981 in Coleman.

(9b) Judy Ann, September 1, 1957 in Coleman, married David Wayne Stephenson, March 9, 1955 in Leaday - March 22, 1981 in Dallas, one daughter, Charity Hope born March 3, 1975 in Brownwood.
