Willie B. King was born January 4, 1897, in Chilton, and came to Coleman County with his parents (see James Campbell King family).  He graduated from Coleman High School and lived in the county all of his life, where he engaged in farming and ranching.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coleman, where he had been a deacon for 50 years.  He was secretary of Baptist Brotherhood two years; treasurer of Coleman County Baptist Association twenty years; member of Masonic Lodge.  He died April 14, 1969, buried in Coleman.

Myrtle B. Knox was born February 17, 1897 in Coleman (see W. T. Knox family).  She graduated from Coleman High School in 1916, and was accomplished in music and declamation.  She was employed for a number of years by Hub Dry Goods Company, Coleman, owned by Louie Zweig.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coleman and active in all church activities.  The last ten years of her life were spent at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman.  Myrtle died October 28, 1980, buried in Coleman.

Willie B. King and Myrtle B. Knox were married December 23, 1917, in Coleman, the parents of one son, James Willie, born April 1, 1920, in Rockwood.  James is a graduate of Coleman High School in 1938, attended Howard Payne College, 1938-1941.  He was in the U.S. Air Force from September 1941 to February 1946, with service in China-Burma-India Theater of Operations.  He graduated from Texas A&M University in June 1949, with a degree in Civil Engineering.

James Willie married Bennie Merle Winstead, daughter of George C. and Danie (Morris) Winstead, July 26, 1942.  She was born February 8, 1925 (see George C. Winstead).  James Willie and Bennie reside in Lubbock where he is employed by the Texas Highway Department, as Assistant District Engineer.
