JAMES CAMPBELL AND LUELLA (BRUSENHAN) KING

James Campbell King was born December 20, 1865, in Boonville, originally Robertson County, Texas, son of William R. Jr., born 1822, in Tennessee, and Elizabeth Parlee (Bowman) King, born 1829, in Tennessee.  James C. had four brothers and one sister: Clay (buried in Rockwood), Joe, Frank, Rufus and Mary.  Luella Brusenhan was born March 6, 1875, in Rienzi, Alcorn County, Mississippi, daughter of Patrick William, born 1819, County Kerry, Ireland, and Kassiah (Kate)Murphy Brusenhan, born 1840, in Tennessee.  Luella had three brothers and two sisters: Robert (see Robert Samuel Brusenhan), Tom, Bill, Anna (see L. J. Livingston) and Bettie, married Joseph Robert Shelton.  James C. King and Luella Brusenhan were married September 11, 1892, in Mooresville.  They came to Coleman County settling at Rockwood in 1904, from Mooresville, Falls County.  It took 5 days for the family to make the trip in a covered wagon.  They purchased the J. C. Lovelady farm northeast of Rockwood, where they established their home and reared six of their seven children.  They resided on the farm until 1943, when they purchased a home in Rockwood; during this period, they lived briefly in Brownwood.  James and Luella were Baptist; active in the community of Rockwood, particularly with the church and school affairs and their children attended Rockwood schools.  James C. died September 9, 1951 in Rockwood and Luella February 12, 1958 in Fort Worth, both buried in Rockwood.  Their children:
(1) Arthur, born July 4, 1893, married Lily Stewardson, in Rockwood, August 20, 1920 (see Richard A. Buck).  They had four children:
(1a) Hearthal (Mrs. R. C. Arnold), lives in Moore, Oklahoma, has one daughter, Men Jan.

(1b) Marjorie Ruth (Mrs. Brian E. Harden), lives in Houston, two daughters, Barbara and Carol.

(1c) Antic Jean (Mrs. Gerald Sitterle), lives in Houston, two daughters, Susan and Jillian.

(1d) Roy Travis, married Opal Ann Jay of McKinney, live in Paris, has two sons, Vince and Mark.

(2) Mamie, born May 10, 1895, married Lige Lancaster (see Thomas Jefferson Lancaster).

(3) Willie B. (see Willie B. King family).

(4) Essie, April 12, 1899 - September 1900, buried Mooresville.

(5) Clydest, September 11, 1901, married Zana Bird in Brownwood.  They have two children: Clyde Edward, deceased, and Colita Faye (Mrs. Bobby Williamson), lives in Euless, two sons and one daughter.

(6) Annie, November 18, 1906, married Arno F. Rothermel, lives in Fort Worth.  Two children: Charles M., and wife Betty, live in Fort Worth; Fred A. married Dana Sue Powell of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He is a Chaplain, U.S. Navy, live in Washington, D.C.

(7) Georgia, born November 18, 1908, married E. L. Hill and now lives in Fort Worth.  No children.
