| John Robert Hibbetts, son of William Robert and Emma Elizabeth Weasinger
Hibbetts, was born January 8, 1882, died July 12, 1973, buried at Cleveland
Cemetery. He married on February 23, 1901 in Caldwell County, Eula
Vience Tucker, daughter of Wylie Pitchford and Laura Josephine (Atkin)
Tucker. Eula was born January 23, 1883 in Georgia, died January 17,
1926 in Scranton, Texas. Their children were: Robert Bruce, born
April 15, 1902 in Caldwell County; Flo Alberta, November 2, 1904, died
August 7, 1961 at Plainview, Texas; Johnny Mabel, July 10, 1908, died November
22, 1957 at Scranton; William Wylie, January 31, 1910, left Coleman County
in the 1930’s; Clyde Marvin, April 18, 1913, died April 2, 1948, buried
at Cleveland Cemetery; Fred Arnold, January 4, 1915, died January 4, 1915,
buried at San Saba; Charley Jamie, March 20, 1916, died March 20, 1971,
buried at Lubbock. The family came to Coleman County from Comanche
County in 1920. They lived three miles west of Santa Anna for a year,
then moved four miles north of Trickham to the old See place. In
that year, 1922, the family, except for Bruce, left Coleman County, but
later returned.
Bruce married Georgia Ruth Baugh (see Loving Harvey Baugh), August 4,
1923. They had three children; the first being Dorothy Ruth, November
29, 1926, died January 3, 1982, buried at Cleveland. She married
Joe Lee Wallace (born February 9, 1923) at Rockwood, June 12, 1944.
Their children were Jo Anne (born August 24, 1945 at Santa Anna, married
Barton Lee Goodwin, January 11, 1964 at Rockwood, children: George Jeffery,
Mark Andrew, Michael Bartlie, and Matthew Ryan); Warren Bruce (born March
2, 1948 at Santa Anna, graduated from Santa Anna High in 1966); and Darla
Denise (born May 24, 1953 at Coleman, married Jimmie Wade Purcell, August
19, 1973 at Bangs, children: Chrystal Nichole and Ty Caleb).
Bruce and Ruth’s second child was Ruby Kathleen, born August 22, 1933,
married Charlie Martin Avants, Sr. (born October 16, 1928 at Whon), December
20, 1951 at Talpa. They had four children. Charlie Martin,
Jr., born November 16, 1953 at Santa Anna, married Vickie Deana Brown,
June 7, 1974 at her home at Clyde. Their children were Damon Shay,
Stacy Ann, and Dusty Leann. Ruth Lynnette, born January 18, 1956
at Santa Anna, married Johnny Mack “Mike” Stephenson (born October 20,
1956, Leaday), January 2, 1976 at Gouldbusk. Their children were
a still-born boy, Holley Michelle, and Chancey Lynnette. David Craig was
born August 29, 1959 at Santa Anna. Sabrina Sue was born May 20,
1967 at Santa Anna.
Eva Nell was Bruce and Ruth’s third child. She was born March 19, 1935,
died January 12, 1972, buried at Cleveland Cemetery, married Alton Myron
Benge (see M. R. Cheatham).
