THE C. C. HAMILTON FAMILY

Christopher Columbus Hamilton was born in 1856.  Elizabeth Ann Dutton was born in 1853 near Jasper, Alabama.  They married in the 1870’s and moved with six of their seven children to Hill County, Texas, in the early 1900’s, and Coleman County before 1910.  They are:

(1) Sylvester married and stayed in Alabama.  He and Minnie had six children: Samuel, Cullen, William, Bankhead, Joe Bailey and one daughter, Elizabeth. Sylvester was a Primitive Baptist preacher.

(2) Rastus married (1st) Donna Stocks.  Eleven children: Henry, Harvey, Herman, Edd, Jack, Thelma, Brazzy, Ruby H., H. C., Earl, C. C.  Rastus married (2nd) Ida Edwards in 1930.  Three children: W. R., Sandra and Lee.

(3) Andrew married Ollie Riddle. Seven children: Carlton, Jewell, Onella, Opal, Ida, Stella and A. B.

(4) Fannie married John Rozelle. Seven children: Bill, Falio, Joe, Erma, O. B., Sam and Martha.

(5) Mae had one child, Elwood, married Felix Cornelius (see Zion Cornelius).

(6) Cleve and Sally had two girls, Eva and Johnny. He later married Eldee and had one girl, Gloria.

(7) John, who married Mary Christian.  Three children: Iva, Elma and Joe.

C. C. Hamilton died in 1928, Elizabeth Ann in 1925, both buried in Brown Ranch.
