Zilman Douglas Goodgion of Cass County, Texas and Matilda Anne Elizah Collins of Cass County, were married June, 1867 at the residence of A. W. Goodgion.  Z. D. was born February 17, 1846 in Douglass County, Mississippi, and M. A. E. Goodgion, December 1, 1848, in Macon, Georgia.  To this union were born the following:

Julius Montague, June 27, 1868, Panola County;

Mary Ellen Z., March 5, 1871, Cass County (see G. W. Myers);

Robert Luch, August 21, 1873, Cass County;

Claud W., December 11, 1874, Hopkins County;

Ophelia Zalmunia, April 8, 1876, Hopkins County;

Medora Annie, December 24, 1877, Rains County;

John Douglas, January 26, 1880, Paris, Lamar County;

Elgin Author, December 30, 1881, Hopkins County;

Edwin Percy, November 13, 1883, Hopkins County;

Talbot Z., August 28, 1885, Hop­kins County;

Katie Valeria, December 31, 1888, Hopkins County;

Travis Homer, September 2, 1889, Hopkins County (see Travis Homer Goodgion);

James Horace, February 8, 1893, Delta County.

Z. D. died January 29, 1899.  He had been a teacher and a farmer.  M. A. E. Goodgion, died March 4, 1927 at Trickham.
