My paternal grandparents, Joseph Goode (1850-1943) and his wife, Susan (Pritchett), migrated from Georgia to near Mount Vernon, Texas, and on to Glen Cove.  With them came one of their daughters, Willie, and three sons, Claud, Luther and Hollis.  Willie married Albert Gotcher and had two sons, LaVan and Eddie Foy.  Hollis met and married Willie Faust from Brookesmith in 1912.  She and her sister, Mollie, had come to Glen Cove to live with their sister, Essie, and husband Nath Bryant, after the death of their mother.  Mollie married George Jeffreys.  Another sister, Maggie Faust, came to live with them and married Claud Brookshier of Talpa (see Bragg Family).  After my grandfather Faust died, his wife, Mamie, and their two sons, J. D. and Robert moved from Brookesmith to the Sid McAdams' place northwest of Goldsboro.  Mamie later married Matt Greer and lived south of Goldsboro.  They had a son, Joe Elmer (see Ross E. Greer).  J. D. and his wife, the former Ruby Sue Outlaw, live in Coleman near their daughter, Peggy.  Their son, Gene, lives in Midland. Robert now lives at Lake Thomas.  Two of the younger Faust girls lived with Hollis and Willie Goode.  The one called Dutchie (Lily D.) married Bud Coats of Goldsboro (see Warren Clover Coates).  Vivian Faust married Bettis Lackett.  Their children: Taylor B. (now deceased), Cleo and Orville.  The youngest Faust daughter, Thelma, married (first) George Wood.  Two daughters, Ozane, who married J .D. Aldridge of Lawn (see Aldridge Family) and Lavonda who married a Herrington.  Thelma married (second) Ray Dick and lives in Lawn.

Grandpa Goode moved to Goldsboro from Glen Cove and bought the telephone company at Goldsboro, Lawn and Oplin.  We moved to Goldsboro where my father worked on the Santa Fe Railroad and farmed; mother was the telephone operator in Goldsboro.  They had three children:

(1)  Henrietta attended school there and married Paschal Frierson of Tokeen in 1929. Their children: Von Reah, Dorothea, Jerry, Patti, Pam and Tommy.

(2)  J. T., born in 1916 in Goldsboro, married Lorene White of Novice, daughter of Talmadge and Bessie White (see Talmadge J. White).  Our children are Sybil, Gary, the late Jimmy Gaylon (1946-1968) and Sharon.  I began working in the oil field at the beginning of the oil boom in Novice in 1940, transferred to Sundown, then on to Levelland, where I retired from Amoco Oil Company, as an operations technician, with 42 years of service.

(3) Buford married Wenona Fauhion, daughter of Lonnie A. and Willie A. (Miller) Faubion of Crews.  Their daughters are Barbara and Gwen of Levelland.  Hollis Goode died of pneumonia in 1920.

Later, my mother married Jess Terrell.  They had these children:

(1) infant Lucian.

(2) Lawton (killed in the South Pacific in World War II).

(3) Milton, now deceased, married Lois Cooke.

(4) Billie, married Naomi Rice of Winters.

(5) Carroll, the youngest son, was killed in a car wreck near Winters at age 18.
