      Carter Mooney Dibrell, one of eight children of J. C. and Maggie Dibrell, was born June 17, 1893 in Coleman (see William Carter Dibrell). He married Lucy McDermett on June 17, 1917 (see J. C. McDermett). Their only child, Carter M. Dibrell, is present owner of the C.M. Dibrell Ranch.  Carter died November 2, 1946 and is buried in Coleman.

     He was a registered Hereford breeder, a member of the American Hereford Assoication, the Texas Cattle Raisers Association, Texas Hereford Association, Coleman County Fair, Coleman County Farm Bureau, the Breeder-Feeders Association, and worked with the FFA, 4-H and other agriculture programs.  Carter was instrumental in mapping and cutting the right of way lines for the REA in Coleman County.

     Lucy was born July 17, 1895 on the McDermett Ranch.  She was graduated from the Cross Plains High School and attended C. I. A. in Denton.  After her marriage, she was a talented homemaker, member of a Home Demonstration Club, helped girls in 4-H, belonged to the Shakespeare Club, the Presbyterian Church and the Parent-Teacher Association. She died October 22, 1980, and is buried in Coleman
.

     Carter (born March 28, 1923) attended the Echo School and graduated from Coleman High School in 1941.  He volunteered for army duty in 1942; spent 28 months in combat in the European Theatre.  October 1, 1946, Carter married Virginia Dibrell (born May 26, 1922) in the First Methodist Church in Weslaco.  She is the daughter of Raymond Allen and Virginia Lillard Dibrell.  After his marriage, Carter received his B. A. from Texas A & M College and his M. S. from Southwest Texas State University.  Prior to his retirement, he received the highest honor that can he bestowed on a Vocational Agriculture teacher: the Honorary American Farmer Degree.  Carter Mooney, Jr. was born September 19, 1947 in Weslaco.  March 5, 1973 he was married to Sue Hupe.  Their children are Raymond Carter, Jennifer Dawn, and Brian Christopher: they live in Texas City.  James Crockett was born in San Angelo on September 19, 1952.  He died in San Marcos on May 16, 1954, and is buried in Coleman.  Sam Clark Dibrell was born in Austin on July 2, 1956, on his great-great grandfather Dibrell's birthday.
