John Aaron and Lillie Mae Bozeman - Family Histories

     John Aaron Bozeman, son of Rufus Wood and Texanna (Jordan) Bozeman, was born August 19, 1883, in Lott, Texas. He married November 12, 1905, in Lott, to Lillie Mae Loyd, born October 16. 1887. near Moody. daughter of Henry Thomas and Viola (Collins) Loyd. In 1911, they moved to Coleman County where Aaron was a farmer, a blacksmith, and later, owner of Bozeman Feed Mill Grinding. He passed away October 10, 1958, at his home in Coleman, Lillie Mae, March 31, 1979, both buried at Coleman Cemetery.
They had eleven children:

   (1) Robert Rollin, born December 16, 1906, in Travis, married August 31, 1933, in Coleman, Mary Porter Cathey (daughter of Carlin Graham), born August 21, 1908 in Coleman see Cathey Family). They had one son, Don (see M. R. Cheatham). Rollin passed away November 28, 1973. At the time of his death, he was a City Councilman and owner-manager of Bozeman Electric and Refrigeration Company. Mary Porter passed away September 11, 1977, both buried in Coleman.

     (2) Wilson Columbus (Jack), March 31, 1908, Travis, married October 31, 1931, in Coleman, Velma Holmes. Jack, a retired farmer, passed away March 20, 1978, in Goldthwaite.

     (3) Harrell David, August 3, 1909, Travis, married August 17, 1946 Grace Blakley, one daughter, Lillie Carolyn. Harrell and Grace are retired farmers living near Coleman.

     (4) Luther Wood (Woody), February 14, 1912, in Santa Anna, married September 16 1933, in Coleman, Bertha Edington. They are semi-retired ranchers living in Coleman.

     (5) Viola, March 15, 1913, Santa Anna, married January 14, 1941, in Abilene, to John F. L. Reed, born December 13, 1914, in San Jose, Illinois. They have three sons: John Robert and Johnathan Frank (twins) and Paul Aaron.

     (6) Mary Etta, June 7, 1915, in Santa Anna married Seal Sneadgar, one son, Gail Wesley. She passed away March 28, 1946 in Santa Anna, buried Coleman.

(7) Ruby Lee, October 19, 1918 in Strawn, married (1) December 25, 1935, Robert Earl Clark, born August 1, 1914 in Coleman. They had four children: Bobby Earl. Douglas, Sandra and Dolores. Robert Earl died July 7, 1968, in San Angelo, buried in Coleman. Ruby married (2) Hobart Arms in 1971 and they are living in Coleman.

     (8) Deliah Mae, January 15, 1921, in Shields, married September 17, 1938 in Coleman, Amos Talmadge Sikes, born August 29, 1921, in Shields (see Arnold Lee Sikes). They had five children: Arnold Talmadge, Jerry Wayne, David Glenn, Charles Lee and Mary Ann.

     (9) J. A., Jr., January 13, 1922 in Shields, married September 20, 1945, in Coleman, Vivian Jewell. Three children: Ellen Joyce, Fred (see John Thomas Smith), and Melissa.

     (10) Lowe M. April 3, 1924, in Coleman, married Nora Stickney, two sons, Jimmy Lee and Richard Wayne.

     (11) Willie B., July 12, 1925, Coleman, married August 19, 1950, Calvin Medcalf. Three children: Winston, Leanne and Terry.
