The
Bobos first came from Georgia to
Arkansas, then to Texas and settled in
Lamar County near Paris. One of
the first to come to Coleman County was
Leroy, who died in 1913 and was buried
in Trickham. Then L .G. (Louis)
came to the Trickham area with his wife
and daughter, Clide, and farmed.
Later a brother, G. W. (George), came
and they farmed together. About
1920, Louis bought the farm of Mrs.
Clemmie Watson and they continued
farming there. George married
Irene McIver on December 30, 1923.
(see B. W. McIver). Louis moved to
Santa Anna and went into the produce
business, his wife died later.
Clide married Ed Zenor, they later moved
to California. Louis married Miss
Ethel Moseley; he died on December 4,
1954, buried at Trickham.
George and
Irene lived in Trickham, Santa Anna, and
Brownwood, where their son, Cullen, was
born. They spent their last years
together at Winchell. Music was a
highlight of George Bobo's life, which
resulted in a large contribution of
sacred songs, which he wrote. Such
songs are published in song books of
Vaughn, Stamps, and others were widely
used in singings and church in the area
where he directed singing and managed
quartets. He died October 28.
1946. buried at Trickham.
