1, Arlene McQueen, was born May 8, 1921, near Fisk, the daughter of Cecil and Ora (Atkins) McQueen. (See R. C. (Cecil) McQueen).  We attended Harmony Baptist Church at Brown Ranch,  I started to school at Brown Ranch in 1928 and graduated from Mozelle High School in 1940.  I met Joe I. Lowe in 1939 and we were married after my graduation in 1940.  Joe farmed and also worked for Mozelle High School.  Our only child, JoAnn, was born August 25, 1941, southwest of Fisk, in my parents' home.  Joe was called to the Army in 1943 and was sent to Kyota, Japan.  JoAnn and I remained on the farm close to my parents until he returned three years later.  We moved to Coleman in 1946 and JoAnn started to South Ward school in 1947.  She attended Jr. High and High School in Coleman.  Joe was in a car accident and passed away October 30, 1957, buried in Coleman.

JoAnn married R. B. Babbitt July 5, 1958, and I married Edward R. Bennett, August 23, 1958.  R. B. a native of Coleman, is the son of Rommie and Merle (Threadgill) Babbitt. Rommie died in 1941 and Merle married J. C. Welch in 1943.  He has also passed away.  Merle lives in Coleman.  R. B. and JoAnn have two children, Clifford Joe, June 27, 1959 and Toi Raedawne, July 10, 1962.  Cliff is a Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety in the Ozona area.  Toi is a radio operator for the Reagan County Sheriff's Department in Big Lake.  R. B. is the communications supervisor with the DPS in Ozona and JoAnn is employed at the Ozona National Bank.  Edward and I reside in San Angelo, where he is driving for Bomer Products.
