Garner, William Bradley - William Bradley Garner, an aged and highly respected citizen of Calhoun county, died here this morning from Bright's disease, aged 60 years. He is survived by a widow and six children. Interment will be made this afternoon in the city cemetery.

Hawes, Hugh Walker - Captain Hugh Walker Hawes, 86, prominently known throughout the coast country and one of the few surviving Confederate veterans of this section, died at his home at Port O'Connor late Saturday. Captain Hawes was a native of Kentucky and came to Texas at the age of 12, residing in Calhoun county for the past 75 years. He saw service in the Civil war as a member of Rugely's company, Brown's regiment. Surviving are one son, A. E. Hawes, of Port O'Connor; one daughter, Mrs. S. S. Perry of Freeport; two brothers, Judge E. Hawes of Wharton and W. I. Hawes of Seadrift; 10 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Hawes, John W. - It came as quite a shock Tuesday morning to friends in Refugio when the news was received here that John W. Hawes, 44, of Seadrift died suddenly in Galveston late Monday night. The deceased was a popular citizen of Refugio for 12 years until he moved to Seadrift several years ago. The funeral was announced for Wednesday afternoon, November 9, at 3 o'clock in Seadrift. Interment will be in the Seadrift Cemetery. Mr. Hawes is survived here by Mrs. Clara Hawes and daughters, Mrs. Maurine Muckelroy and Miss Dorothy Hawes; in Seadrift by his mothers [sic], Mrs. Ann Hawes, and brothers and sisters, Albert and Ed of Seadrift, Lloyd of Galveston, Will of Rockport; Mrs. Ada Brundrett, Rockport; Mrs. George Beyette, Laredo; Mrs. Stella Oertling, Bay City, and Mrs. Sidney Dierlan of Galveston.

Henderson, H. M. - H. M. Henderson, County surveyor of Calhoun county died suddenly of heart failure Tuesday morning.

Hengst, Lula Bell - Lula Bell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hengst of Port Lavaca, died Thursday at 8:00 o'clock, a.m. She was 7 years and 10 months old at the time of her death. Gus. Schaefer, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schaefer and Mrs. Jim Knight left for Port Lavaca Thursday afternoon and were in attendance upon the funeral, Friday morning. Lula Bell was a grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schaefer.

Heyik, V. - V. Heyik, a prominent citizen, and acting mayor of Indianola, died suddenly Thursday evening.

Hill, Zack - The many friends of this county of Mr. Zack Hill, of Seadrift, will learn of his sudden death with sadiness [sic]. News reached here that he died in that city very suddenly Sunday, Sept. 27, no particulars were learned. He was for a long time a resident of the East Side and has many Panola friends. The remains will be laid to rest in Seadrift.

Hubble, Martha - Died In Indianola, on Monday night the 4th instant, after a lingering illness, MRS. MARTHA HUBBLE, consort of Mr. Charles Hubble, and daughter of P R Fleming, Esq., all of Calhoun County.
