Ambrose ~ ca 1899
There is some question as to whether
this town ever existed. The postmaster and post offices of the 10th
Congressional District indicated that an appointment was made in May 1899 with
James Casey appointed as postmaster and discontinued by October 1899. There
seems to be no recorded evidence of where or when the town of Ambrose began.
James Casey is listed in the Roster of Confederate Soldiers of Caldwell County;
yet the records show his papers were missing.
