The purpose of the organization is educational: to provide and maintain an
organization for the study of historical and genealogical records, to collect
and preserve these records in accordance with good archival practices, and to
make them available for research in the Historical Research Center (HRC),
Luling Public Library.
Historical Society Research Center hours:
Monday 1 PM to 5 PM (closed 3rd Monday of each month)
Tuesday 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Wednesday 1 PM to 5 PM
Thursday 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Friday – Closed
Saturday - Open 9 AM to 1 PM by appointment only

Volunteers are available to assist Monday through Thursday afternoons.

Volunteers will do quick look-ups in response to email and postal requests as
time permits. Small fee charged for basic research and copies.
The Research Center has a large number of both Caldwell County
and non-Caldwell County records, books, and quarterlies
on the shelves for public use. Microfilm of Texas Census, Lockhart newspaper,
and available Luling newspapers are held for use of the public.

Queries are answered as time permits, a Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope is required.
Extensive research must be referred to an outside researcher, and a list
can be provided.

Membership is open to anyone who
has an interest in preserving genealogy
and history regardless of race or creed.

Single, $30; Couple, $35; Friend of the Library,
$45; Sponsor, $60; Patron, $110
Last three categories have name printed in the Plum Creek Almanac.

Circulation of the Plum Creek Almanac includes Exchanges nationwide
Members from New England to Alaska We do not sell advertising space, however we accept
and review books.
The award-winning Plum Creek Almanac has been published
twice a year since 1983. A copy of every issue is on the shelf in the Historical
Research Center. PCA Locations will help you locate
other sources of back issues of the journal. A copy of the Index to
Contents of the Plum Creek Almanac is posted at
PCA Contents. Subscription to the PCA is included in membership dues.

Material is solicited for the vertical files and
possible inclusion in the PCA from anyone with interest in Caldwell County, and in
the area which covered DeWitt's Colony. Other materials are welcome, and will be
added as space permits.
Deadline for copy for the Spring issue is February 1st;
Fall issue deadline is July 1st.
