Teel, Faye
Faye was born in Salmon, Texas
on the 2nd day of May in 1933 to John Thomas and Lucy Brimberry
Prestridge. She was the fifth born of seven children. Faye attended school
in Elkhart and Palestine, Texas and was wed to Earnest Melvin Teel on
October 1, 1949 in Crockett, Texas. Faye was a devoted and loving wife for
63 years. She and Earnest showed their children how to love by their
actions and their words.
They moved to Fort Worth in
1953 where Faye went to work for Mott's 5 and 10. In 1957 Earnest joined
her at Mott's as an assistant manager and getting his own store in Grand
Prairie in 1958.

Faye was quite the seamstress,
homemaker and cook and a woman of many talents. She yearned for children
for many years and after 11 years of marriage, the Lord blessed Faye and
Earnest with a precious baby girl, Lori, and three years later, John and

Place, where they lived for 29 years. While living in Elkhart, Faye took
up Tole painting, woodworking, and quilting to add to her already
impressive list of homemaking skills. In 1982, the grandkids started
arriving and Faye and Earnest were blessed with seven grands in seven
years. The grands spent many summers at Mamaw and Papaw's all together
there, where they have many fabulous memories. Faye spent many hours in
labors of love handcrafting the most special gifts for her grandchildren
to treasure for their lifetimes.
In 2009, Faye and Earnest
moved to Mansfield to be closer to Lori so she could take care of them. It
was not a popular decision for Earnest but Faye made it easier for him
every way she could.
Faye loved her games and was
quite the Scrabble player, if she could get anyone to play her, since she
won most of the time. In her later years, she took up writing poetry and
enjoyed SkipBo and
Uno with her treasured friends.
Faye spent most of her life in
the service of others whether it was cooking, crafting, sewing or her work
in the Church teaching Sunday school or being a "bus mom". She will be
remembered by her loving and graceful ways and her compassion for others.
