Oliver Scott
We are very sorry we did not get a sketch of this old pioneer. He
came to this county about 1847 and settled on Walnut Creek. There
were only a very few families here then. Mr. Scott died last
winter and an obituary appeared in these columns which gave a
sketch of his life. He was a man of very fine order of mind and
did a great deal towards helping develop this country.
He has several children living in the county who are good
citizens and doing well. His picture was among the first we sent
to the engraver but by some means he failed to send the cut until
Monday just before we were ready to go to press on the last pages
of this edition.
